Although Joseph and Beth always wanted to have a large family, they were unable to get pregnant again after Violet and Matthew were born. So, they kept busy raising their kids and getting involved with various extracurricular activities. Bryan took up skateboarding and snowboarding; Violet became very interested in gymnastics; and Matthew took up soccer and rugby.
After high school, Bryan started competing nationally in skateboarding and snowboarding competitions and has began to compete at an international level as well. Violet, not to be outdone by her older brother, won high marks at the gymnastic world junior championships when she was sixteen, and has her eyes set on Olympic gold. Matthew, seeing the stresses competitive athletics has put on his older siblings, actually withdrew from sports and is studying for a degree in mechanical engineering. He is also engaged to a girl he met in high school, and the two are hoping to be married after she finishes nursing school in the fall.
