Thirty-five years Good Queen Tess has ruled Lutera. Scandals, disasters, even war and battles have come and gone. Some Tess handled well, others not, but everyone agrees that it was all done with the best intentions. She has built a legacy of improvement: her university has become a thriving international center of learning, attracting students from all around, her academy system has expanded to every corner of the queendom, and after the Treasury Scandal, she revolutionized the way royal officials are appointed, placing safeguards so no unworthies would ever get preferment through bribery again. She has done more as well--a system of orphanages, built on the backs of her academy system, has provided for thousands of abandoned and parentless children over the years, local improvement and sanitation projects lifted many out of squalor and poverty, and an encouragement of international trade has brought diverse cultures to her people's attentions and appreciations. All in all, it has been a good reign.
Her most lasting legacy, however, will be her children. Princess Sophie, brilliant and beautiful and compassionate, has been a beloved figure since her childhood. At the age of 24, she married the 20-year-old Lord Quinton, affectionately called Quinn, whom she had known most of her life. The two have three children, two lovely daughters to secure the succession and a darling little son. Sophie is a loving and attentive mother, and Quinn is devoted to her and their sons. They are a popular and involved couple whom everyone is certain will make a wonderful queen and consort in the future.
