In the Kingdom of: EreborMany years later, Ibûn dies of old age, leaving behind Vígdís. At the funeral she announces she's decided to say goodbye to the title of queen, and the throne falls into Eira's hands. She, however, has become disenchanted with the idea of regency after the many years of seeing her fathers burnt out by war and stress, and offers the throne to her siblings. Tyr decides to take it, to everyone's surprise. Even though he loves nature his and Olwyn's little house in the woods has become too small for their many children, and he's decided to settle down somewhere safer after being attacked by a troupe of wolves and losing his leg defending his children.
The public is shocked. An adopted son becomes king -- while so many legitimate children are alive? And he'is married to an elf, his children strange mixes of dwarf and elf? Yet his family backs him up, and even though the rest of his reign - and his eldest daughter's - is doubted not by a few, he rules over the kingdom nobly, in stable peace.

Perhaps one did not want to be loved so much as to be understood - George Orwell, 1984
