In the wake of the devastating loss of the Empress, the entire Empire is in morning. They have won a decisive victory, but the cost feels far too high. But at least the children, especially Crown Princess Iris, are safe, though the Crown Princess is not yet of age, and the Empire is without a ruler. At the advice of the council of advisers, Gemina becomes Princess Regent, ruling in the Crown Princess' stead until she comes of age.
