Princess Consort Gemina's pregnancy goes smoothly, and the royal couple welcome their second child, Prince Hektor Gregorios Bao. Little Tory is doing well right from the beginning, and is often glimpsed about the palace carried by Gem in a sling. Leia and Niko are excited about their new little brother, and Demi is both proud and relieved by how well things are going after how badly they went last time.
Sadly, not all is easy, as rumours of impending war begin to reach them. Apparently many in Raya's kingdom blame Empress Demeter for Raya's death! Demi consults with her advisers, hoping to find a diplomatic solution, but of course also strengthens border defenses. The people of Lai Shi are buoyed by joyous news of the new prince and at the same time both reassured and somewhat worried by increased military patrols and frequent calls for new recruits.
