After the death of the old King Johan VII, it was his freshly eighteen year old only daughter Lovisa who took over the throne, bringing the country back into the uncertainty that it faced just years ago. With her father marrying in his late sixties, she was the only offspring that the marriage produced and her coronation to Queen of Sweden brought the list of heirs back to 0. Being in rush to marry was not something that came as novelty to Lovisa, being brought up with the objective to marry early and produce as many heirs as possible in order to halt the noble Ribbing family from becoming the new Royal House in Sweden.
Looking for potential husband however proved to be a complicated task, especially when your heart leads you to someone who should be your enemy. When the engagement of Queen Lovisa and Peter Ribbing, son of Maurice Ribbing the pretender to Swedish throne, was announced many held their breath and questioned Peter's intentions. However it was soon crystal clear that it was a deep love and respect that connected the young couple and the public stood fully behind them. Unfortunatelly it was not true for Peter's family who disowned him and promised to do anything to prevent their offspring from accessing the throne of Sweden.
