When Les and Miri came home with young Daniel for the first time, they've had their house all set up and ready, complete with a bedroom for their own son. The first few days, conversation was still in a mish-mash of French and English, but Les and Miri have agreed to gradually turn the household language back to English as much as possible, since they do not know if they are going to adopt more children who might not speak French.
Miri and Daniel have bonded almost immediately, perhaps because she is also more fluent in his native tongue than Les is, but it's apparent that Daniel adores his new Papa as well. By the time he first tucks into his new bed with Sophie by his side, he's already enticed by sweet dreams.
