James is working on his first novel. I'm excited, because there is a character inspired by yours truly. We just bought 50 acres outside of a smallish city, and are living in an apartment while our house is being built. James needed somewhere quiet to write; I wanted a garden. Guess which lucky interior designer gets to do all the decorating? This year: Our house was finally finished! We moved in last May, and now James has an office to work in, and I have a sun room and a butterfly garden, which is a work in progress. James' novel was sent to the publisher and will be coming out next year. After all the work that James put in on his book, and I decorated the entire house, we decided to take a belated honeymoon and tour Western Europe. James is doing research for his next book, and has this intense fascination with standing stones. I think we visited all of them! I think we de-stressed a little too well...When we came home, I was feeling really tired and just couldn't seem to bounce back. I thought it was jet lag, but James brought a pregnancy test home one night and it was positive. It was kind of a surprise, but a very nice one. So Miranda Claire (5 lbs and 4 oz) and Maia Josephine (4 lbs and 11 oz) were born just last week. James was absolutely terrified that I would need a C-section, but the girls decided that natural birth was fine by them. My mother moved in to try to help me get them on a livable sleep schedule. I'm so tired, but it was completely worth it, because every time I look at them I think that I have added something precious to the world. James is adjusting; he had trouble at first telling them apart. But Miranda has a birthmark on the side of her neck, in a little crescent shape. He seems to be in awe of the fact that we all start out so small. _________________________________________________
John: Why do you know all this random, useless stuff?
