Last year, JT finally landed the principal job at the high school where he taught math. Being a principal is very demanding, but he enjoys working in the administration of the school. Meanwhile, Sierra and two other physical therapists started their own clinic that works with a local hospital. Sierra is very proud of this accomplishment and hopes to work at this clinic until retirement.
Patrick and Skylar broke up for a couple of years while Skylar went away to college. They both dated other people during this break, but they reconnected when Skylar came home for the summer two years ago. In a short time, they got engaged and are now expecting their first child, a girl. Patrick works in carpentry for a construction company that specializes in office and professional buildings. Skylar has a degree in graphic design, though she might take a couple years off to be a stay-at-home mom.
Isabel decided to follow in JT's footsteps and become a teacher, though her preferred subject is English. She continues to write short stories and will try to publish a collection of her work in the next few years. She met her boyfriend, Damon, when they both worked for the admissions office at their college. When they first met, Damon was a graduate assistant, and he now works full-time in the retention services for another university.
Miranda was shocked to discover that she was pregnant with her boyfriend, Cooper. He tried to convince her to give the baby up for adoption, but Miranda wanted to raise the little girl herself. Ever since Tessa's birth, things have been tense between the couple. JT and Sierra have been very supportive grandparents, and Miranda's siblings have stepped up to help babysit their niece.
Olivia still loves to play video games with Miranda, though the twins are both so busy that they can hardly make time for this anymore. Olivia is very involved with her dance studio. She recently landed leading dance roles in ballet performances and even teaches a class for young students.
Adrian likes to challenge his twin sisters to playing video games and now frequently beats both of them. He has worked to improve his drawing skills and now likes to draw comics for his friends and family. Additionally, he plays percussion for the school band and orchestra and is learning how to play the piano.
Jocelyn hopes to start a school chess club when she starts high school in the fall. Being in the youth chess club has given her a lot of great experiences and the confidence to start her own club. She is also thinking about joining Adrian in the school band, since she just learned how to play the clarinet.
Sebastian broke his arm a few weeks ago, which means that he'll have to spend a couple months out of the water. He misses swimming, but he now has more time to devote to his favorite school subject: math. JT was thrilled when his youngest son expressed an interest in his own favorite subject. Sebastian competes with a few of his classmates in math competitions.
