A couple of years ago, Spencer lost his wife and his youngest daughter in a car accident. His eldest daughter, Annie, had been in the car as well and had suffered terrible injuries, but fortunately she at least survived. Lora passed instantly and Nikki spent several hours in critical condition before passing as well. This tragedy has left Spencer and Annie feeling lonely and desolate. They ended up moving back in with Anthony and Cate. Spencer hasn't dared go back out into the dating world. He prefers to raise Annie alone at this point in his life.

This past year, they received a surprise: Adrienne had become pregnant once again... and they finally got their baby girl! Yes, it took them forever. Yes, there is now an eleven year age gap between Nathanial and Demetria. But Adrienne is happy. She has her little girl that she has wanted for so long. It's a beautiful thing.

Currently, they think that two is all they will really need for their little family to be a happy little family. Liana is spunky and confident, always making new friends wherever she goes. It gets a little problematic from time to time when she runs off at the store to make a friend and they can't find her anywhere. Cooper, on the other hand, is really shy and quiet. He clings to his mother (or father, depending on whoever is nearest) and never speaks to anyone, let alone the random stranger that walks by. Despite this personality discrepancy, Liana and Cooper are best of friends.

Grayson is a fantastic big brother and off to kindergarten now, leaving Waylon, who's learning to be a great big brother like Grayson, and Cameron, who doesn't have to learn how to be a big sister, at least not at this point in her life. Maybe later. Cedric and Roxy haven't decided if Cameron will be their last.

Genevieve and Alphonso have gotten pretty physically intimate. A year ago, Genevieve gave birth to their daughter, Marcie Ramona. Tristan didn't like it so much at first, but he has come to dote on his granddaughter. He seems to think that she is one of the best things that has ever happened in their life. Oliver has also gotten himself a girlfriend--a young lady named Jesica Sinclair. She is nineteen, two years younger than he is, but they seem to be an okay match. Maybe not perfect, but then again, who is?
Sadly, not all is sunshine and rainbows in the Tristan Thurman family. About a year ago, Bernadette came crying to her parents, big fat tears rolling down her face. Kelley took her youngest daughter in her arms and held her, comforting her, soothing her, waiting until she had calmed down to ask what the matter was. She didn't have to wait long, because Bernadette blurted it out before she was calm. Her mom didn't understand. How? How could this be? She didn't have a boyfriend... She was only thirteen at the time. And that's when it came out. Bernadette told her mom everything. One of her teachers--the one everyone thought was her favorite--had been molesting her and she was pregnant with his baby. Kelley and Tristan helped Bernadette decide that the right decision was to keep the baby. She gave birth to her son not long ago. His name is Maximilian, Maxie for short.

Hugo has been going out with a young woman named Sheryl Ratliff for about a year and a half now. They met at college. He was helping with a tutoring program when she came in for some help. She was stuck in a math class and math was never quite her forte. Hugo has always been a math genius. He started helping her, they became good friends, and voila! they are now a couple. They love to joke around with each other. They're always very supportive of each other. They seem to know everything about each other. Seems like a match made in heaven.
Jonah has a girlfriend as well. They've been going out for nine months, since the beginning of his senior year of high school. Now, he's preparing to head off to college, and he's scared that it won't last between him and Micah. She is the light of his life but he is going all the way across the country and she has to stay and continue high school. He's heard all the horror tales about long distance relationships and it scares him. Will they be next?
Barrett started hanging out with this Italian kid the beginning of this past school year. This kid's family had just moved from Italy and he was Italian born and raised. Until now. Olivia and Damian thought that it was sweet that Barrett had become such close friends with this kid who had just moved. They thought that is all it was until one day, Frankie arrived at their front door. Barrett wasn't home. Frankie knew that. He wanted to talk to Olivia and Damian about something. He sat them down at the table, standing in front of them. "I came here at a time that Barrett isn't on purpose," he explained, "because I want to do him a favor without his knowledge. He is going to tell you something very, very important and I want you to promise that you won't freak out on him. Okay?" Damian and Olivia agreed. The next day, Barrett came out to his parents, announcing that he was dating Frankie. And Damian and Olivia were okay with this.

This past year has been insane for the Jarvis family. Aisha, at fourteen, found herself in a "relationship" with a boy two years older than she was. She thought he sincerely liked her. She thought that she sincerely liked him. She couldn't have been more wrong. This young man, named Tucker Barker, more commonly known as TJ, only wanted to use Aisha. He began taking advantage of her to the point that she became pregnant. When she told her parents, Sheldon went after him, gave him the talking to of his life, and made sure that Aisha never saw him again.
Aisha didn't want to be a mom. Not yet. Fortunately for her, her mother was pregnant at the time, so they planned for Shelby to raise both their children as if they were born twins. Also fortunately for her, Aisha never became overly large. They both went in for a C-section at the same time, so that the babies would both be born around the same time. Aisha gave birth to a baby boy, the elder of the two, whose name is Britton. Shelby also had a son and named him Justen. Britton and Justen will be raised as twins and very few people will know otherwise.

Micah and Julianna are having fertility issues, so it would seem. They've been actively trying for the past few years but nothing. Currently, they are generally fine with that, but they know that they won't always. They have started looking into IVF and other options in order to make their family a reality.

They aren't sure how long he'll make it, but currently things are looking like they may be okay for awhile. That doesn't stop the heartache seeing him like that brings, though. Or the thought of the possible--if not probable--future heartache of his passing. Mollie prays that things will end on a brighter note than that. Byron just hopes for the best.

The past five years have been busy, busy, busy for Barry and Lucy. They have had seven children in the past five years and are expecting their eighth. They went from no kids five years ago, to seven kids five years later. They just decided that it was time to make their family a reality. Barry and Lucy were in their early thirties and knew that they wouldn't have terribly much more time. So they got started and things took off at the speed of lightning. Delia, five, can be very bossy and hardheaded but she does it because she thinks it's what's best. Braxton, four, is the loud and obnoxious child, always running off, always making noise. Reece, three, loves to draw and paint... and thereby make messes. Elaina, two, loves to dance and sing; Lucy already has plans to put her in ballet when she's a little bit older. Felecia, Elaina's twin, is the opposite and prefers to play sports; they already see her becoming an athlete. Lucinda, one, is quiet, rarely saying a thing to anyone. They aren't even sure if she's spoken her first legitimate word yet. Rhett, newborn, is a rather fussy baby, always crying about something. Even still, with all the chaos, Lucy and Barry love their children and they love each other.
