In the past five years, Spencer broke up with Ariana Odman. Things started getting rough between them when work began to overload him. Due to this, he couldn't spend as much time with her as she wanted. Which, to be honest, was a little much. She asked for a lot of his time, more than he felt he could give. So he broke it off between them. A year or so later, he started dating another girl, Cherish "Cherry" Ward. She was a sweetheart. But she also had fidelity issues. They broke up less than a year later because she couldn't keep her hands off other men. Spencer took a couple years off after that and only within the past six or seven months got back into dating. He is currently dating a young woman named Loretta "Lora" Green. Anthony and Cate want these two to get married so badly. Lora is perfect, in their minds. Humourous, kindhearted, hardworking. She is everything that they could hope for their Spencer. Spencer couldn't agree more.
Adrienne and Thaddeus were married five years ago and six months after their wedding welcomed their first child, son Jeremy. Obviously, they had to admit that Jeremy had been conceived before their wedding. But no one cares that much. He has two happily married parents and two younger brothers now, so everything is okay. Two years after Jeremy's birth, he was joined by a younger brother, Sylvester, and two years after Sylvester, they were joined by another brother, Nathanial.
Derek broke up with Gwendolyn. Things were fine with them, and that was the problem. All the joy, the excitement, the passion, the good stuff that had existed before, faded away, leaving Derek and Gwendolyn with a very carefree, almost open relationship. They talked about it and agreed that they should see other people. Derek is now seeing a young lady named Alanna Francois. This is four or so years after the break up with Gwendolyn. Despite having left the relationship on good terms, it still left a mark on Derek, so it took him awhile to get back into the swing of the dating world. But he is definitely happier with Alanna than he ever was with Gwendolyn. He isn't regretting his decision now.
Cedric, the baby of the family, got his first girlfriend three years ago at seventeen. He and Roxana "Roxy" Scruggs have been together ever since. They were in the same circle of friends in high school when they started dating. Roxy was sixteen at the time. A year later, her younger brother, fifteen, committed suicide. He had been bullied a lot, starting when he was a little boy. When he started dating another young man, the bullying escalated and he couldn't take it any longer, so he took his own life instead. Roxy had been really close with her younger brother, so his suicide hit her hard. Her whole life spiraled out of control, but through the whole thing, Cedric was there for her. This is just one reason why everyone expects them to get married eventually.
Tristan and Kelley took several years off before they decided to try for another baby. This time they got a little more than they expected: twins! Rhiannon and Bernadette are four now, both super smart and both super sweet. They are just about inseparable and certainly identical. It makes it hard for everyone else to tell them apart, especially since their personalities are very similar as well. Kelley knows which one is which, but they manage to trick Tristan into thinking that Rhiannon is Bernadette and Bernadette is Rhiannon sometimes. Silly girls!
Olivia and Damian have been very busy these past five years. They took a three year break before welcoming their next child, another son, Barrett. After Barrett, they got back into their every other year cycle. Two years after Barrett, they welcomed another son, Isaac, and two years after Isaac, another son, Winston. Olivia is very proud of her boys and loves them with all her heart, but she desperately wants a daughter (and Damian knows this). They've discussed the possibility of adoption, just to make sure that they do get a daughter in the end, but Olivia wants to keep trying for as long as possible before they resort to that.
Shelby and Sheldon have welcomed another daughter, Deidra. Aisha was two when her sister was born, and so she has been struggling with being an older sister. It threw her off when her parents brought home this little cutie pie and started giving the majority of their attention to her. Aisha began to act out. That's when Shelby realized: they weren't paying her enough attention, poor baby! And that was the beginning of the close relationship that Shelby has with both her daughters and her daughters have with each other.
Micah and Chrystal broke up four years ago on terrible terms. Chrystal blamed Micah of cheating on her, when in all reality he wasn't. He had just started going out with his guy friends more and more. He still spent plenty of time with her, but she refused to believe that he wasn't seeing someone else on the side. The break up was messy and far from pretty. It broke Micah for the longest time. His life spun into a downward spiral after Chrystal left him. It wasn't until he met Julianna Hazekamp a year and a half ago that things got better. Julianna is now his girlfriend. He considers her his savior.
Byron and Mollie got married five years ago. They waited to start a family until they were able to settle down into a routine and find a good home in a good area to raise them. Currently, they only have one, a son they named Damion. Damion is three now and they think they will be ready to welcome more children into their family soon. They just felt they weren't ready to add more. One rambunctious tot was enough for these first time parents. They wanted to make sure they got everything right with this one so that they could continue to be good parents with their next ones.
Barry and Lucy are still together. They currently have no plans for marriage, but all that could change in the blink of an eye. They definitely have a deep love for each other. We'll see where they are in five years' time.
