Both the Hunter-Normandy and McAffee families recently welcomed their last children, a son and a daughter respectively. Septimus was extremely surprised to find out that he was having another daughter—he and Lisandra hadn’t planned on having more children, after all—but they’re definitely happy to have her.
Benedict and Rhiannon just can’t believe that their first son is on his way to Hogwarts. Crispin was positively thrilled when he got his letter, and he started practicing his spells as soon as they bought his wand. He has practically memorized all his textbooks already! He was a little annoyed when he found out he was having a brother who would take up all his parent’s attention, but they mollified him by letting him pick the name. Plus, he figures, it’ll be nice to have another little sibling who thinks that Crispin knows everything.
Clara and the twins became best friends just as soon as they started at the same school a couple of years ago. Now, they like to commiserate about their impending little sibs and practice their little about of magic together. The adults are beginning to see that other people think they’re a little odd. Oh, well.

Rhiannon told Crispin that he could pick out his brother’s name on a spur-of-the-moment decision, without talking it over with Benedict. They had a mild disagreement over it, and eventually decided to lie down some guidelines: complete and total veto-power, no nicknames, and no last names. Crispin wanted to use a name that began with Cris-, but, after his parents vetoed it, he went with a “cool” Swedish name that contains at least three letters that are also in his name. The middle name he chose is a classic that begins with C or T.

Septimus and Lisandra want their daughter’s first name to be a similar name to Clara’s that’s not in the top 100 in England and Whales. Septimus loves Clara’s name, but he’s always secretly wanted her to have a more unusual middle name. For this daughter’s middle name, he and Lisandra have decided to find a short name from mythology.
