Another five years have passed.
Two years ago, as Samira turned 40, she told Kaleb she wanted to have one more baby. So they did. Symphorienne is a year old now.
Just before Symphorienne was born, Hero came home and tearfully told her parents that her best friend since elementary school, Samuel, had been kicked out of his house. So Kaleb and Samira took him in too. When his adoption papers were filled in, they asked if he’d like to add on a second middle name so he could fit in with the family. He picked his new middle name himself.
