I was just going to sign up, but the characters took on a life of their own--so here's a story to go with them.
Meredith Beauregard Duquesne was born to wealthy parents. He grew up primarily in the care of nannies and butlers, seeing his parents just a few times every week. When he got to school, he was teased mercilessly about his name. Finally, he got everyone to start calling him Duke. Now a partner in his father's business, he goes by M. Duquesne, and most people just call him Duke.
Erin O'Rourke was born in New York City. Her grandparents emigrated from Ireland, looking for the "American Dream". Erin worked hard in school and got a scholarship to a prestigious college, where she met Duke. She and Duke didn't start dating until their senior year. Over the past two years, they dated, got engaged, and were recently married.
Now, Duke keeps busy at his father's business, where he is in the middle management and Erin works in the PR department for a large health food chain. The two of them rent a two bedroom apartment and are building a house on a large plot of land Duke's parents gave them as a wedding present.
