After almost 20 years as a high school English teacher, Beth lost her job. There were budget cuts and they needed to condense the staff -- and Beth was one of many who lost their jobs. Beth was angry at first because she spent almost 20 years at the same school ("How could they do this to me?!") but, after some time, Beth took this as a blessing to start doing what she really loves -- cooking! Thankfully, they have the means (with Jack's job) for Beth to go to Culinary school. She's loving it so far!
