Jon had just finished graduate school and was in the process of applying for teaching positions. Out of the blue, a friend of a friend--someone he hardly knew, but who was aware of his habit of drawing and doodling--asked Jon to partner with him in a startup animation company. The kids thought it was great and encouraged him to go for it. Sephe was a little more dubious; it was a risky endeavor, and they had a new baby to support. But if things went well, it could be a very profitable enterprise, and Sephe knew Jon would enjoy the work, so in the end, she voiced her support as well, and Jon took the plunge.
