A few years ago some close friends of Rose and Duncan had success adopting a little girl. Seeing how happy they are gets them thinking that they may want to do the same. After much discussion, they decided to try and adopt a little baby boy with Downes Syndrome in need of a family. His mother (a teenage girl) originates from Ireland but he was born in London. He has thick blonde hair and deep brown eyes. They name him Edward, after Rose's father, and Jack, after Duncan's father John 'Jack'. But everyone calls him Teddy.
