Re: Norah's Adoption Agency!

Hello! It's been just over a year since Vitor, Rafaela, Luna, and Enzo joined our family here in France. There have been some challenges, such as the language barrier. Noam had a hard time understanding that Portuguese wasn't the same language as Spanish and Vitor, Rafaela, and Luna had a hard time understanding that if they wanted to be understood by us they had to speak slowly, at first anyways. Tali and Enzo did not have this problem as much, being young as they are, and instead of conversing chased each other around and played rather than talked. They've become surprisingly close in a short amount of time. The four oldest children are currently attending a bilingual English-French school and excelling. There are two Brazilian teachers on staff and another Portuguese counselor that have really helped the process of getting the children acclimated along. We couldn't be more grateful, especially since the Brazilian teachers introduced us to a number of Brazilian families with children of similar ages to ours. Tali and Enzo attend the attached preschool and have thrived. The first few weeks of school were rough for Vitor, as he was not used to the structure of school and embarrassed by his inability to read. Fortunately, with a little intervention and support from his classmate and new brother, Noam, he quickly regained his confidence and has since made friends. The children have enjoyed our various trips, especially the one we took last month to Portugal. The Vitor, Rafaela, and Luna were thrilled to be back with their people (well, it was close enough) and took pride in helping us communicate with the natives. All in all, the last year has been incredible and we wouldn't trade it! We hope to take the kids down to Brazil in the next few years so that Tali and Noam can experience their siblings' culture first hand and that our four newest additions can see that their old home wasn't all that bad. Thanks for everything,
Ariel, Danny, Tali, and Noam
