DH: Walter James Nicholas "Jay" (74*)
DW: Hayley Rose (Johnson) Nicholas (83)After a recent fall in the grocery store that resulted in a broken hip, Hayley decided to move into an assisted living facility. She has her own apartment suite, but also has the option to travel down to the dining room or day room to socialize with other residents. Hayley enjoys not having to worry about things like cooking or taking care of a whole house. Her children also feel better that she has people around to make sure she has everything she needs. Lizzy and Jason are leading busy lives: both have full time careers and parenting responsibilities. Their son, Mark, is in third grade. He is a smart kid, but has a lot of excess energy that sometimes gets him into trouble.
Chris and Angie's family has had a difficult year--their younger daughter Kylie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of childhood leukemia last year. Kylie is a strong little girl, and Chris and Angie are sparing no expense to help her. Emma has had some trouble in school this year, but it is to be expected with everything going on.
Amy and Greg's family has grown again in the past three years. Greg accepted a new job, and the two of them were able to move into Hayley's large house. They are very glad to have a new place to call home--and to house their young family. Rose and Hazel are adorable little girls, and both are stereotypical "girly-girls". They love playing with dolls and dressing up and having tea parties. Nathan, 4, is a rambunctious little boy who's into trucks and castles and building blocks. Rose, Hazel, and Nathan were joined by their identical twin sisters, Mara and Alicia, last year, bringing their number to five. Amy is a stay-at-home mother, and she certainly has her hands full.DD: Anna Michelle (Nicholas) Morris "Annie" (58*)

Annie and Robert's family was rocked last year when the two of them were killed in a car accident on their way to a museum.
Charlie and Julia were both hit pretty hard by Charlie's parents' deaths. Charlie ended up taking about three weeks off from work to help tie up loose ends. Julia has been very supportive, and has helped keep their portion of the Nicholas/Morris family together. Adam is in his junior year of high school, and he is hoping to go to MIT for some sort of computer degree. Luke, 11, and John, 9, spend their time conducting experiments and watching their brother Adam build computers. They are very intellectually-minded.
Nick and Sarah's family is doing pretty well. Nick has been in the United States for the past three years and has been fortunate to have only one six-month deployment to Germany. Melody and Mason have loved having their Dad around more frequently. They are both growing into great kids. Melody likes to sing and dance. Mason likes acting, but he spends a lot of time running around outside playing.
Emma finished residency last year and took a fellowship position at a prestigious Boston hospital. She is currently in a serious dating relationship with a hand surgeon, Richard Colson.
Joey and Rachel's business is still going strong after five years. Parker is seven now, and he loves to learn from his dad about all kinds of car and machines. Two years ago, Joey and Rachel welcomed their second son, Shiloh. He was born with a mild form of cerebral palsy, but he is doing well with physical and occupational therapy.
Benji and Bridgette are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their second child. After Bridgette had a miscarriage two years ago, she and Benji have wanted another child, but have been nervous to hope too much. Benji is still working as a clinical psychologist and Bridgette has been able to do much of her editing work from home. Brooke, 3, is a happy little toddler who has been getting adjusted to preschool. She is excited about the prospect of a little brother or sister.
Missy and Harry were not expecting to have any more children, but they had a fourth son just a month ago. Missy is a little overwhelmed at times, but Harry does his best to help her out with the kids. Jenna, very proud of her nine and a half years, takes her role as eldest child very seriously. She tries to look out for her younger siblings and is a big help for Missy. Hannah and Owen are in first grade this year. The two of them are always causing trouble and are curious, adventurous, risk-takers. Braden and Kane are generally a little more subdued than their older siblings. Both Braden and Kane contracted chickenpox when Jenna (and Hannah and Owen) got it two years ago. Braden had a very high fever that resulted in a permanent complete loss of hearing in his right ear and about a 30% loss in his left. He and Kane are smart little guys, often content to sit and play with their matchbox cars and legos for hours.
Jonny took his parents' death hard, particularly because it came just before the birth of he and Skylar's first child--a daughter named Jessie. Their family still lives in Oregon.
Aaron is still in the Air Force, flying experimental aircraft. He got married last year to a girl named Chelsea Miller. The two of them didn't waste any time consummating their marriage and now have a little girl named Olivia.DS: Noah Walter Nicholas (56)

---DFiancee: Felicity Ann Jones (21)Noah and Jana have spent the last three years in Germany. Noah has integrated back into German culture seamlessly. Jana has had a harder time, since she had to learn German; however, she is getting used to living in a different country.
Shelly married her long-time boyfriend last summer. The two of them are expecting their first child. Shelly is still very busy at work as a news correspondent, and she isn't sure how she and Claude will add a baby into the mix, but they are excited about it.
Adelina and Ricky have two young children. The two of them are still working full-time as nurses, so sometimes their schedules get a little tricky. Their older child, Lucy, is an adorable three-year-old who spends her days playing with anyone who will sit down with her, including her younger brother, Ty.
Zella and Fritz are doing well. They have traveled back and forth from Germany to the United States several times in the last three years--the latest time with their son, Jakob.
Morgan and Jenny are still married, despite the odds. Morgan is still writing, and he loves what he does. Jenny works part-time as a school secretary. She and Morgan share nearly all responsibilities for taking care of their three young songs equally.
Willy, 23, is engaged to a girl he met while hiking one afternoon. The two of them are planning to be married in three months. Willy is still working nights as an ER nurse.DD: Laura Victoria Nicholas-Grayson "Laurie" (46*)

Jackie graduated from college this year and is seeking a job as a social worker. She is also planning her wedding to her long-time boyfriend, Stephen. Stephen recently found a job as a second grade teacher.
In the past year, Franklin has started trying out prostheses. He still has occasional nightmares about the accident, but is doing fairly well. He has developed his natural talent for art and now does wonderful charcoal sketches and oil paintings. AS: Olukayode Joshua Nicholas "Ode" [Nigeria](49)

---DD(Laya): Sophia Eleanor Nicholas (2 months)Ode and Lorraine's family is still growing.
After adopting Chidike and Masamba, Abi found other orphaned boys drawn to him as well. In the past three years, four other boys have come under Abi's official protection. Abi is still working in Enitan's clinic. He has also formed a relationship with two of the local women, who help him with his little "gang".
Kayin, Bobby, and Paisley travel around the country together, with Bobby's mother able to travel with them to help take care of Paisley and her new little sister, Katie.
Laya and Lara began college together last year--Laya studying biochemistry, and Lara studying engineering. Laya was raped by her then-boyfriend, AJ. She decided to have the baby and take courses at the community college for a few years. She moved back in with Ode and Lorraine, who are now helping her take care of her little girl, Sophia. Ayo also went to college, studying music therapy. He is also taking piano, guitar, and saxophone lessons.AS: Enitan John Nicholas [Nigeria](47)

--DD: May Oluwaseyi Nicholas (9)Enitan is getting older, but still works long hours in the medical clinic he painstakingly started so many years ago. Olivia is helping him out still, by managing administrative and PR tasks that he really isn't good at. Enitan's older two girls, Lea and Betsy, are in the United States at an international boarding school. Lea was there last year as well, and she really enjoys it. She is taking voice lessons from a semi-famous singer, and is making progress. Betsy found it difficult to adjust to being an ocean away from her parents, but she's had Lea's support (and that of her large American family). When the girls aren't in school, they spend time with their Aunt Jamie and Uncle Jay or Uncle Ode and Aunt Lorraine. Tommy likes being "the oldest" kid at home now. He spends a lot of time outside playing, and has recently become enamoured with baseball. May is the favorite child of many of the people in Enitan's village. She is one of those people who can light up a room just with her presence. She is hoping to follow her sisters and go to boarding school next year. She is very interested in the United States and is thinking that she would probably like to live there someday.
