Sergei is a thirty-two year old man who works as a Russian-English translator part-time and runs a boarding stable part-time. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes. Sergei loves horses and spends a lot of his spare time riding and training them. He and Vanya have been married for twelve years and work well together. They teach their children strong family and moral values. When Sergei was younger, he played professional ice hockey. He retired two years ago after he found himself playing less and performing poorly. Now he coaches a kids hockey team that is doing quite well.
Vanya is a thirty-two year old woman who is a homemaker. She and Sergei have been married for twelve years and they have six children; five biological, one adopted. Vanya has blonder than blond hair and blue eyes. She takes good care of her children and schools them at home. Before marrying Sergei, Vanya worked as a secretary and a librarian just to make ends meet. Now she takes an interest in the horses Sergei owns and trains. She has ridden the horses a few times, but likes just watching them better than actually riding them.
Alex is ten years old and in fourth grade. He is the best son Sergei and Vanya could have asked for. He is very patient and doesn't get mad at his siblings easily. Alex gets good grades and loves to ride the horses. He also plays hockey on the team that Sergei coaches. He doesn't get shown any favoritism, other than that he is a talented young forward. Alex has dark brown hair and blue eyes and is the spitting image of Sergei. He is very protective of his younger siblings, especially his sisters.
Roman is nine years old and in third grade. He is a good student and one of the best in his class. Roman is a little more short-tempered than Alex, but he has a good heart. Roman also likes to ride horses, though not quite as much as Alex. He also plays on the hockey team coached by Sergei. He started playing goalie this year and is excelling at his new position. Roman and Alex could be mistaken for twins--with their dark brown hair and blue eyes being so nearly alike. Roman likes action and loves to play roleplaying type games--in most of which he is a knight, prince, or other type of valiant young warrior going to rescue a damsel in distress (one of his sisters).
Mir is eight years old and in third grade. He was adopted at the age of three by Sergei and Vanya. Mir fits in very well with his siblings and is counted as much a full sibling as the rest of them. Mir is short for his age, but doesn't let it slow him down. He likes hockey and plays around with his older brothers, but his real passion is horseback riding. Mir is very good at riding and is often used by Sergei to demonstrate a concept to younger students. Mir is very good with little kids (even though he is only eight himself) and has become a sort of peacemaker in the family. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
Kitty is six years old and in first grade. She is Sergei and Vanya's oldest daughter. She is a truly beautiful little girl and has an exceptional voice. Sergei and Vanya do not encourage her to perform, however, because they don't want her becoming proud or tired of her talent. Kitty loves to run and play with her older brothers. She has long brown hair usually in pigtails and she has blue eyes like the rest of her siblings. Kitty likes horses, but thinks they are much to big for her to be around.
Anna is four years old and doing pre-school-like work. She is Sergei and Vanya's youngest daughter. Anna is a quiet girl who likes to watch whatever is going on. She loves playing with her older siblings, but can also entertain herself. Anna likes stuffed animals and has a bit of a collection of puppies and kitties that she plays with a lot. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes.
Evgeni is two years old and doesn't do any school work yet. He is Sergei and Vanya's youngest child and son. He is an adorable little boy that people can't help but like. Being around so many older siblings, Evgeni has picked up English and Russian very quickly and is relatively fluent in both languages. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Evgeni has already ridden his first pony and Sergei plans to teach him how to skate in the next year or two.
