Sorry about the double posts. I really did log in. I did.
Round One!
About three months ago I applied for a counseling job at a high school. Last week, I learned that I got the job! I'm so excited. I begin when the new school year starts in September. My boyfriend and I recently got married. His name is William Alexander, or just "Wil". We had a beautiful wedding ceremony last weekend and just got back from our honeymoon--which was to Disneyworld, a place neither of us had ever been before! While we were away, our respective families got together and bought us a little 3-bedroom house and decorated some of it. We were very surprised and have since finished painting and decorating our new home. Wil and I are the best of friends and we have had a great week. Round Two!
Two years have gone by. Wil and I are just as much in love as we have always been and we recently welcomed a little boy into our family. His name is Kent Elian and he was born on April 8th at 12:09 am. Kent is a beautiful baby boy and he is the best child any parent could ask for. He is content, quiet, and seems very routine oriented. We knew that Kent was going to be a boy, so we decorated his bedroom with all kinds of sports-themed paraphenalia--mostly hockey because that's what Wil does for a living (he is an athletic trainer for a professional hockey team). Kent seems to like his bedroom, little as he is. Because we've read that growing up around pets can help reduce allergies in children, Wil and I decided to adopt a kitten from the local shelter. It is a mixed breed kitten, but it is short-haired and has orange tabby markings. We decided to name her Haley. Haley is a very curious kitten and she likes to explore. The shelter had her declawed, fixed, and vaccinated so we don't have anything to worry about. Round Three!
Three years have passed. Wil, Kent, and I have just welcomed twin girls into our family. Kent is very excited that he will finally have some other kids to play with in his own family. It also helps that the pre-school he goes to just finished up teaching the kids about 'Family'. Kent is very excited and wants to help us in any way he can. He also wants to take his baby sisters in to show his pre-school class. We named the girls Paige Montana and Delaney Faith. Paige is the older of the two by about sixteen minutes. Paige and Delaney were born October 5th at 10:49 and 11:05 pm respectively. Kent helped Wil paint their nursery pink. I decorated with all kinds of frilly pink ruffles and things like that. Kent made some new friends recently when a new family moved into the neighborhood-they have a little boy who is his age named Michael. They also have another daughter named Kylie and a newborn named Amanda. We get together with them a lot to play games with the pre-schoolers and we exchange babysitting dates. Kent also made friends with the twin boys in his preschool class; John and Jake as well as with another boy named Garrett. I recently quit my counseling job to stay home with the kids until they're in middle school or so. Wil and I decided it would be best for the kids if I was around all day. This makes it easier on everyone. Our kitten, Haley, has grown into a very tolerant cat. She and Kent like to play and she is surprisingly gentle with him as well as the girls. Round Four!
Another 2 1/2 years have gone by. Kent is now a big six year old who just celebrated his sixth birthday. He is in first grade and has made lots of new friends. He loves taking care of Paige and Delaney, who are two and a half and get into everything. Paige is the more outgoing of the two and she likes climbing anything and everything. Delaney is a little more laid back-she likes to color and look at books. Wil and I have decided to adopt another little boy so Kent can play with him. Elijah Ryan is his name and he is five years old. The adoption agency almost forgot to tell us that if we adopt Elijah, we also have to adopt his two year old sister, Charlotte Rose. Wil and I talked it over and we decided to adopt both Elijah and Charlotte. We gave them both nicknames--Eli and Carly. Eli is in Kindergarten and he looks up to Kent. Carly is a bit behind Paige and Delaney developmentally, but she is learning quickly. We found out about Eli and Carly from one of Wil's friends at work--his daughter had just gone through a divorce and was having some drug issues. He and his daughter were more than happy to be relieved of their responsibility for two small children. Since our little house is bursting at the seams, Wil and I decided it was time for a move. We didn't want to go far because Wil still loves his job and we wanted to be near our families. We actually moved about fifteen minutes away to a 5-bedroom house with a giant backyard. Kent and Eli are glad to be sharing a room and Paige, Delaney, and Carly share a room too. The other two bedrooms we've transformed into a rec room and a study for Wil. Our cat, Haley is not at all fazed by the additions of two new children. She is very tolerant and actually seems to like rough housing with the boys and 'playing' with the girls. To celebrate the adoption of Eli and Carly, we took a vacation to the beach. We didn't go very far, living on the East Coast, but it was a nice change of scenery for the kids. Kent had a blast showing Eli around. We practically had to drag Paige and Delaney out of the water. Carly wasn't too sure about everything at first, but she settled down and played in the sand for a good part of the time.Round Five!
Wow! Ten years have gone by. Wil and I are still happily married. We are thinking of adopting a sibling group from Russia--10 year old Alexei, 8 year old Anna, and 7 year old Evgeni. We still aren't sure, though and are thinking it through. Kent is sixteen now. He just got his driver's license and can't wait to show off the little red sportscar we bought him for his birthday. It's used, and a little dingy, but Kent loves it anyhow. He is 'friends' with a girl named Joselle Marie Gordon. Joselle is in several of his classes at school. Kent insists he and Joselle are just friends, but Wil and I suspect they like each other. Eli is fifteen. He is jealous of Kent because he has a driver's license and a car, but he and Kent are still good friends. Eli has decided to become a pro hockey player. He is naturally talented and learns very quickly. We said that as long as he keeps his grades in the As and Bs at school, he can play on the travelling team this year. Because of hockey and school and family commitments, Eli doesn't have time to date. I've noticed recently though, that he seems to have his eye on Brittany Elaina Williams, a girl in the eighth grade. Paige, Delaney, and Carly are twelve. They are maturing into beautiful girls who all have different interests. Paige is into sports and soccer is her specialty. She also has great orating ability and big dreams for her life. Delaney is a bit more subdued, as she always was. She also plays soccer--coincidentally, on the same team as Paige. They both play half-back position and teams often do a double-take when the same girl appears to be on the field for the whole game. Delaney's true passion, however, lies in photography. She is very original in her subjects and has a knack for getting good pictures. Carly is very petite, but is athletic and quite flexible. She gave up ballet two years ago to try out gymnastics. She fell in love with the sport and wants to go all the way to the Olympics someday. Wil still works as an athletic trainer and is recognized as one of the best in the business. I am very proud of my husband. I recently went back to work, counseling women at a crisis pregnancy center in our area. Our cat, Haley died four and a half years ago at the ripe old age of twelve. The kids pestered so much that we adopted another pet. This time, a Greyhound named Pyro was our choice. He is a beautiful blue merle hound with a very friendly disposition. Pyro needed a companion during the day when we were all out, so we adopted another Greyhound named Dixon. Dixon is very light gold and is playful and likes to play 'fetch'.
