Never say never and yes, dreams do come true. I was in Los Angeles, California when Joaquin and I first met. I was serving as an Au Pair for a rich family during the summer. We met on the beach one early morning, I had the day off so I decided to explore. Not many were out that early and he was jogging around the beach. From there I am kind of in adaze as what all happened but we spent the rest of the day together and watched the sun set across the ocean. That was the best summer of my life. I did make a few magazine covers before the summer was through. My heart was broken when my contract was up and I had to go home in September. Two weeks of being apart he flew to my home, it wasn't just a summer fling after all. Joaquin proposed the following Christmas Eve. We got married in Spain on June 1st.
We decided to wait for children. Be married first and get to know eachother more and just enjoy being with eachother. As well we both had career goals in mind. I wanted to make the Vancouver Olympics and him movies. We suceeded. 2 years later I was pregnant with our fist child.
Luka River Joaquin Phoenix was born June 24th. Luka weighed 6lbs 2oz and was 18 3/4 long. He has black hair and his father's eyes. He was born at in a secure Spanish Villa we were vacationing in the summer. I wanted an ocean birth since we were in spain but there would have been no privacy at all so that option was not available. But we still had a small private waterbirth. We had professional photos taken 2 weeks later of Luka, Jaquin and I and released it to the public. I'm not the kind of person who likes to to be couped up all the time so I take Luka out and about, Joaquin sometimes with me but not always when hes doing shoots. I have an array of body guards so I do feel safe. The paparazzi never ends but I dont believe it's as bad as Britney Spears or Prince William, so I feel lucky enough.
Luka is a sweet baby. Never a real fuss.
