Welcome Sofiya, Maksim, Nadezhda, and Elena!
in reply to a message by .P.
Congratulations!
Sofiya is 12 years old and comes from St. Petersburg, Russia. She has light brown hair and blue eyes. She is small for her age and quite thin; this is partially due to the deplorable conditions of her orphanage. She has not been raised in any particular religion, although she was dropped at the orphanage with a Star of David around her neck. She likes to look at magazines and hopes to be a model someday if she gets taller. She loves to try on clothes and is a very skilled seamstress. Her best subjects in school are art and music. She plays the violin. She is looking forward to living someplace warm where she can go to the beach! Her favorite foods are pelmeni and tea cookies.
Maksim is 8 years old and comes from Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has been raised Jewish and is moderately religious. His favorite foods are cherry vareniki and chocolate cake, which he has had only once. He is intelligent, but doesn't care to study much. He prefers to spend time playing sports and playing guitar. He has a very colorful imagination and likes to make up stories and jokes. He gets impatient quite easily and can be a bit spoiled. He is fiercely loyal to people he cares about. He looks forward to having siblings for the first time! He would like to be a banker or entrepreneur someday.
Nadezhda "Nadia" is 3 years old and comes from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. She is the older sister to infant Elena. She is a very active child who tends to dominate her little sister. She has a tendency to shout to get what she wants, but normally she is very sweet and friendly. She does not yet know how to read. She likes to play with her rag doll and to sing. She is developmentally normal.
Elena is an infant from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. She appears to have no disabilities of any kind.

Dear PantheraVirgo Adoption Agency,
We feel so blessed to be writing to you today, nearly two years since we adopted four of our beloved children with your help. It is a special day for us, not just because of our adoption anniversary but also because Avi is graduating high school tomorrow. It is really hard to believe that we have come so far from who we were back when we first met you.
Although I doubted it would actually happen, Aviyah has been very much changed by the experience of adopting new "siblings". Avi has lived with us since she was around Maya's age (when her parents died), and she living with us when both our biological daughters were born, without much effect. She played with and loved them of course, but until recently she would not go out of her way to spend time with them. When the 'new kids' arrived, she seemed to realize how lucky we all are to have a family. She gets on, with us and our kids, so much better than she used to.
Sofia has really blossomed. Although she has her teenage angst-y moments, for the most part she is pretty sweet. Sofia really looks up to Avi (although not literally, since soon after Sofia came to live with us she shot up in height) and the two of them have connected over music. Having Avi around seems to have really comforted Sofia and helped her deal with the grief of being abandoned as a child. Now that Sofia has finished 8th grade, we have really enjoyed seeing her take to math and reading, among other subjects. She is very motherly to our other children.
Unsurprisingly, Max and Maya are best of friends. The two of them are almost the same age, which works well in their relationship. M&M, as we like to call them, enjoy playing outside and making up stories as they go. When Max and Maya first became good friends, Tali was incredibly jealous. However, after a few weeks and spending some time with both Max and Maya, alone and together, Tali made her peace with the new arrangement. Max loves joining his older sister for jam sessions whenever Tali and Maya are having sisterly bonding time.
