Luc Harker remembered Cami Lorenzo from school. They'd had a few classes together every so often, but she was the life of the party, and he was reserved. After all, coming from a warlock family in a place like Cairn Hills made you an introvert. Sure, Cairn Hills recognized magical beings such as wizard, witches, ghosts, or vampires, but there was a stigma attached to actually being one.
During a boating trip with her older brother, Cami fell into the lake. Jack jumped in after her and drowned, unable to fight the current. Luc, who was sitting on the banks sketching, used his magic to stop the currents, swam out to Cami and saved her. From that day on, they've been inseparable. Luc keeps Camilla from being to completely impulsive, and Cami brings Luc into the limelight. She know about his wizard status, and she knows he doesn't want to tell anyone. She's working on giving him the courage to tell people. He thinks that as a non-magical human, she doesn't understand the pressure.
