In the Kingdom of RossinestFour years have passed in Rossinest.James' mother, the Dowager Queen, passed away about three years ago, much to the sadness, but not the surprise of the Royal Family. She was buried with utmost respect and ceremony in the tomb of the late King. Renowned for her beauty in her youth, her fertility in her middle years, and her altruism in her late years, the kingdom of Rossinest will surely miss her.Princess Adeline and Prince Roan have spent much of the last four years in Weland, living in the Royal Palace with Roan's parents and siblings. This time it was Roan's turn to teach Adeline the language, and now Adeline is as fluent in Weland's language as her own. The royal couple is still very much in love and growing in love everyday. About two years into their marriage, the young couple decided that it was time to begin thinking about children. When the happy day came when Adeline was certain she was pregnant, she and Roan bid goodbye to their Welandic family and began to journey back to Rossinest so that Adeline could be with her family for the birth of their baby. Two years ago, Adeline and Roan welcomed a lovely baby girl that they named Sieglinde, after Roan's grandmother. Her Rossinest family calls her Lindie. Princess Sieglinde is now two years old, and Adeline and Roan are struggling to decide whether to expand their family while still in Rossinest or to move back to Weland. The twins are now grown women and each have married, crushing the hopes of many a young man in Rossinest. Though both are very aware of their duty and very responsible young women, Genevieve has married outside the kingdom for love. The young prince of neighboring Bryony, also a twin, accompanied his twin sister as she came to meet the Queen of Rossinest. Genevieve and Johanna performed for the princess and her retinue at their reception feast and when Genevieve saw Prince Alexander across the room she knew she had to meet him. Within a few weeks, Genevieve was confiding in Johanna that she was in love with Alexander and wanted to marry him, though marriages for both twins were already in the works. Johanna and Princess Aurelia Rosabel felt for their twins and worked together to propose the marriage to their parents. Genevieve and Alexander are extremely happy together, and their first child was expected so soon after the wedding that some eyebrows were raised, but Genevieve is so happy that she has barely noticed. The couple named their daughter after both of their late mothers, and the baby is called simply Cordelia by her mother's family, but is known by her first two names in her father's family.Johanna, though happy for her sister, knew that her sister's blissful marriage would come at a price. Practical and responsible, even as she was presenting her sister's desire to marry Prince Alexander, she was working with her father to salvage the political advantage of Genevieve's lost suit. She suggested to her father that they speak to the Duke of Aralind. The Duke of Aralind's lands are easily the most fruitful in the land, yielding plenty of food and timber. Recently, his wife and the women of his dukedom developed an innovative fabric method that has sent gold flooding into Rossinest and, particularly, Aralind. The Duke of Aralind has been notoriously picky in marrying off his heir, his son Robert. The Duke has been very particular about making a match for Robert. A young lady must meet the stubborn man's high standards of beauty, sophistication, personality, and breeding. The Duke is known for his difficult personality and suffocating presence, and though his son Robert is exponentially more pleasant, many fathers have been either unwilling or unable to present their daughters successfully. King James was keenly aware of Aralind's difficulty and had been hesitant to force any of his daughters to have him as a father-in-law, even though the Crown would benefit highly from a marriage to Robert of Aralind. Johanna knew this and conspired with her father to wow the Duke of Aralind into a marriage contract between Robert and Johanna. James invited the Duke of Aralind in his family to stay at the Royal Palace in honor of his great strides in technique and its boon to Rossinest. At the end of the month, the Duke of Aralind was so impressed by lovely, elegant Johanna that he presented Robert's suit to the princess without James ever mentioning the idea directly. Johanna barely knew Robert when they were wed only a few months ago, but they seem to get along well enough. He is pleasant, much moreso than his father, and treats Johanna with respect.Charles is without a doubt the heart-throb of the entire kingdom. He is dashing and has grown into a charismatic and well-loved young man. He is not yet married, though rumors abound about love affairs and illegitimate children sired by the young prince. Whether there is any truth to these rumors is unknown. He is still respectful, but cool to Queen Molly.James and Molly are good partners, and enjoy each other's company, but no longer share a bed.
