In the Kingdom of: GentianA mere week after Queen Sola's death, the Royal advisers brought up the topic of remarriage to King Leor. They said that, in order for his family to retain their royal status, he had to marry the next in line. Leor could only be a regent for 5 years. Because all of Leor's children with Sola were too young to inherit, the next in line was Sola's cousin, Lady Thea, who was nearly 17.The King didn't like this arrangement at all, especially since Thea was so young. However, he knew that, for the sake of his children and for Gentian, it would be better to remarry. After all, he knew that his wife had cared so much for her country and children and would not want either to suffer from the lack of a ruler.Young Lady Thea was brought to the palace, for a very small wedding. Thea's mother had died when she was a baby and consequentially, she had been raised in court, by a number of older ladies. Thea had never expected to rule, or even receive a title higher than Lady, so she had not behaved with any sort of propriety. lady Thea was known as a flirt and more than one man claimed to have spent the night with her. Thea was hardly cowering at the possibility of marriage, she was more unsure about being tied down and being looked up to as queen.Thea and Leor married a few months after Sola's death in a quiet ceremony, with Advisers, Leor's children and Thea's father present. Leor was still wracked with guilt, for he had loved Sola, but he kept telling himself that it was what she would have wanted. After marrying Leor, Thea felt extremely isolated. She was kept away from the gossip and rumor of court, for the advisers knew that she had a potentially scandalous past. They hoped that by keeping her secluded, it would prevent rumors of an illicit lover, or other such nonsense. Thea, though she had protested at first at the idea of being kept away from court, found that it was a relief to not be in the center of the web of rumor and gossip of the court. She could be herself and she felt accepted by Leor and his children, without having to flirt and draw attention to herself. Now, she was Queen and the title alone made her important. At first, Leor and Thea didn't spent much time together, or if they did, it was only innocent conversations. But, after the royal advisers stressed the need for an heir, Thea found herself pregnant. She was extremely nervous, having never thought that she could be responsible for such a precious thing as a baby. Despite all the confidence that Thea seemed to have, she was very unsure about her new duties. The kingdom rejoiced when it was announced, about a year after their marriage, that the new Queen and the King had had a child. Thankfully, it was only one--A daughter, whom they named Princess Eva.Leor and Sola's children loved their new half sibling and even their new stepmother, who, though she didn't replace Sola, was loving and spent time with them. In truth, Thea didn't have any knowledge of politics and left running the kingdom to Leor, who was quite good after Sola's illhealth. Thea instead watched her own baby and kept Leor's other children company. Much to the relief of the Royal Advisers, people were less likely to talk ill of a queen who had just given the kingdom a new heir and any potential rumors about Thea dissipated.
