In the Kingdom of: Gentian
Queen Solandra inherited the Kingdom from her father, the late King Alonzo. She was the only child of the King, and his Queen Eliora. In order to become Queen, Sola had to marry. While this was not a law, it was a custom for a Queen, especially a young one, to have a husband, so as to avoid any unnecessary scandal.
Sola was allowed to chose her husband from a pool of suitors her advisers had chosen. She chose Prince Leor, who was close to her own age, as well as being eligible and handsome. He was the middle son of the King of a neighboring nation, so he has royal blood, though he would not have inherited the kingdom of his birth.
