I'm feeling particularly masochistic today, so why not...
I don't know how many rounds we're going to do. Each round will have a writing prompt in addition to the new family members, and most of the time the writing prompt will include some kind of personal tragedy. Ages are optional, and I'll post how many years it's been each round so you can keep them up-to-date.

Stellan, a weary office drone from Seattle, was on his way home from an odd business call from Europe, while Amy, a freelance photographer from Boston who had been living in Ireland for the past year, was one more flight and one more day away from attending her sister's college graduation at Seattle University.
By chance, Stellan and Amy happened to have the same type of luggage (cheap, brown-gray, and ugly) and reached for the same suitcase as it came around the baggage carousel. Amy insisted it was hers, though Stellan held on, thinking he could recognize his flight-worn bag anywhere. An amused passerby suggested they actually open the suitcase before arguing any more. When they both opened it, neither of them recognized the drag queen ensembles inside. Stellan, in his rush, had forgotten all about luggage tags and handed the suitcase over to its bashful rightful owner. Meanwhile, Amy hoisted a familiar bag - the last bag - off the carousel, only to find it had Stellan's tag and not hers. With her luggage lost or otherwise missing, Amy would either miss her flight tracking down her luggage or miss her dear sister's graduation. Her suitcase was mostly clothes, so she put off finding her suitcase and bounded for her gate.
At the gate, she was amused to find Stellan standing in line with her as they boarded, and even more amused to find they were seated right across the aisle from each other. They didn't exchange much more than a few smiles and looks (besides, Amy was far too busy stifling her laughter at SkyMall products and Stellan was probably still in the wrong timezone) until the plane touched down in SeaTac and Stellan accidentally hit Amy in the face with his carry-on bag. There, he apologized for the both the luggage debacle and the bag smack, but she told him not to worry about it. A little conversation on the way off the plane about the day's events and their lives before that day was enough to lead to an exchange of luggage tags and numbers.

Solomon Sexton was a student teacher in Catherine Brand's fifth grade class when he was twenty. Casey wasn't exactly the brightest kid in the world--she couldn't get past a D in anything--and Sol offered to tutor her.
Sol and Casey got along well. Very, very well. They always laughed and had fun during their tutoring sessions, and Casey seemed to learn a lot, too. These tutoring sessions became something Casey looked forward to, as did Sol. It was a joyous thing.
Little did they know how these harmless tutoring sessions would end up.
Five Years Later
On the eve of Casey's sixteenth birthday, her former student teacher and tutor arrived at her house, a grin on his face. Ever since he'd become a teacher at her high school--though when he was hired she wasn't in high school yet--Sol had caught sightings of Casey often. These sightings reminded him of how much fun she was to be around. He decided to find out where she lived and take her out for dinner as a birthday present.
When Casey's father, David Brand, opened the door, Sol smiled graciously and asked for Casey. Giving this younger man an odd look, David turned around and yelled out, "Catherine Justine Brand, get down here!"
Casey hurried down and found herself face to face with her favorite tutor--she'd had many in her time, sadly--as her face burst into a big, rather cheesy grin. "Mr. Sexton! Is it really you?" she asked. Grinning, Solomon nodded. "What on Earth are you doing here?" was Casey's next question. When Sol answered, Casey giggled. "You really came to take me out for dinner as a birthday present, Mr. Sexton? How sweet! Where are we going?" He told her they could go anywhere. Glancing down at his semi-fancy outfit and then down at her own very casual outfit, Casey grinned, announcing, "Let me go change so we can go to my favorite Italian restaurant." She quickly disappeared.

Their relationship was conducted in secret for a long time as he was her teacher, but when Lena graduated 3 years later they went public finally. At first Lena's family was appalled that she was in a relationship with a man 13 years her senior but once Jean-Philippe travelled to Los Angeles with Lena to met them they came to genuinely like him and realise that the age gap wasn't the big deal they had made it out to be.
Jean-Philippe and Lena choose to reside in Paris where Jean-Philippe still teaches at the art school, and Lena is a free-lance photographer. Jean-Philippe proposed to her at Eiffel Tower on their anniversary and they married in a simple but elegant ceremony attended by only 20 of their closest friends and family only 2 months later.

He didn't think she would come - after all, going out with her older brother's best friend wasn't exactly considered a "good thing".
But she said yes. And Jadon were still being snotty and acted liked he owned the world. But he was a very funny guy, and he maked Isadora feel alive. Like someone finally saw her. So they started going out together, without telling Gabriel, Isadora's brother. After a couple of weeks they became officiall and Gabriel wasn't exactly happy about it. Jadon didn't came to their house to meet him anymore, he came to snuggle with Isadora.
After a year they had a small wedding with their family and closest friends. And they hope that Gabriel has accepted their relationship by now, but who knows?

Layla and Avery have known each other since they were in primary school. After girls stopped having 'cooties' they quickly became friends, and found that they had some geeky interests in common. They dated for about a year in their late teens before Avery started pressuring Layla into marrying him and taking over her Father's security company like her parents wanted, so she hopped a plane to London on her eighteenth birthday. When she finally contacted her parents two week later she told them that she was staying in London and, since they couldn't force her to come home, they bought her a flat and paid for her...lifestyle.
She flew back to Canada when Freddie was three to let him meet his family and her Father was able to convince her that it was bad for Freddie to be flying all over the world [she worked as a Travel writer] and to take over the company. Layla ran into Avery eight months later in a grocery store and, though the two had several nasty fights over the next few months, they ended up dating again.
Layla only got married at her Grandparents insistence though, and made Avery take her last name. They signed the wedding certificate down at city hall with no fanfare and the only change was that Avery now wore a ring on the proper finger.
Layla isn't in love with Avery anymore but appreciates the fact that he won't leave her and knows that it's safer to stick with one partner than the slew of them she had before. Also, he's a great Father figure to Freddie and treats him as if he were his own son.
Freddie misses London and hasn't made many friends in Vancouver yet and wishes that his Mom would let them go back, because he knows she isn't completely happy here.
