Of the Royal House of Terron, of the Kingdom of Thylos
The past three years have been fairly quiet. The Dokshainens have calmed down somewhat and there have been very few attacks along the Thylosian coast. But when Josie announced that she was expecting again the Kingdom held their breath, knowing that only one of the pregnancies had been easy on her so far but, slowly, they relaxed as things seemed to be going as smoothly as with Tilda. Until Josie woke seven months after the pregnancy had been confirmed with sharp, stabbing pains.
The labour was painful, but quick, but Josie and Theo panicked when their newborn didn't make a sound. After a few minutes of the physicians hovering over the babe a cry erupted. Nessa is still very small and needs constant looking after but, for the time being, everything seems to be alright.
Lan is starting to sprout upwards and has become a bit gangly-looking, but he maintains his balance and good charm. He makes everyone feel comfortable and, while Theo knows that this is a good quality for a ruler he worries about Lan's rash decisions when he does get angry.
Riny and Oskar are inseparable. They spend nearly every waking moment together and, sometimes they sneak into each others rooms to sleep together. Theo and Josie have received a fair number of marriage proposals for Riny but refuse to think about it until she is at least fourteen, not wanting her to be married too young like Josie was.
Dannie is practically Theo's shadow nowadays and is seen by Theo as the best possible future ruler of Thylos, but Josie isn't so sure. She's seen the cool indifference that Dannie displays and isn't sure that she should be allowed the throne.
Alex and Chris often try to sneak off of palace grounds and sometimes Josie and Theo let them succeed, always instructing someone to watch the boys and make sure that they don't come to harm. Their names allow them to blend in but they usually change them because the fact that they're twins and have the same names as the Princes raises people's suspicions. They have made a few friends in the city though, which Theo is grateful for since the boys don't seem to get along with the people at the palace.
Tilda likes to help the nursemaids and Doctors take care of Nessa, often fetching fresh water for baths and clean diapers and cloths, she finds their work fascinating and has told Adelheid, who likes watching the young Princesses, that she wants to be a Doctor when she grows up. Sometimes Adelheid will give herself a shallow cut on her palm or ankle, or be intentionally reckless and get scrapes, just to Tilda can practice bandaging.
