1. Adoption
We want to start our family right away so we adopted a son from Kazakhstan. He is a light tan and has brown/black straight hair and brown eyes. He is 5 years old. We agreed for him to have a more American first name and to keep his Kazakh name as a middle name. His name is Elijah Temir and his birthday is August 5th.
2. Pet
Elijah wanted a pet so we got him a cat. It is calico so naturally we call it Callie.
3. Birth
We were thrilled at the beginning of the year to find out that we were pregnant. Elijah was very excited to have a new baby brother. Our son has straight brown hair and brown eyes. We named him Nicholas James. He was born November 12th.
4. Birth
Only a few months after Nicholas arrived we discovered that we were expecting again. On December 3rd we welcomed our third son – Benjamin Isaac. Ben has wavy brown hair and brown eyes.
5. Travel
We take a vacation to Greenland. This is where Ken’s ancestors are from and we wanted to experience his heritage.
6. Pet
We got the boys a really cool gift for Christmas this year – a bearded dragon! They named him Oscar.
7. Travel
After visiting one of Ken’s ancestor’s homes we decided to visit one of mine and went to England.
8. Adoption
We adopted from Ethiopia. We adopted a handful – 9 month old quintuplets, 2 boys and 3 girls. We gave the children American first names and kept their Amharic/African names as middle names. The quints were born on January 4th.

9. Our family took a blow this year when we found out that Lucy is 95% deaf.
10. If you think we are insane at this point, we are. We have so many children yet there are still so many without homes so we adopted again. This time from Germany. We now have a straight red haired, blue eyed 16 year old daughter named Josepha Elsa, because she is already 16 we kept her name the way it was. We call her Jo most of the time. Her birthday is February 8th.
11. Ken is now head surgeon. This was his life long dream.
12. I am going back to school for a few refresher courses in the evenings.
13. Tragically I found out that Ken was cheating on me and now we are getting a divorce. This is going to be very difficult for me and of course our children. I can’t believe I am going to be a single mom of 9.
14. This year I met a man who loved me and loved children. He wanted a big family and I had one to give. We got married this December. His name is Japheth Rodger and he has wavy blond hair and brown eyes. He is a writer.
15. We took a family vacation to Canada.
16. We loved our trip to Canada and the kids were telling Japheth about our trip to England. We decided to go again and to let Japheth experience it.
17. Even though we already have so many children they are getting older and Japheth wanted one of his own so we had another baby boy. He has wavy brown hair and blue eyes. His name is Caleb Zachariah. He was born April 4th.
18. There was a fire. Luckily most of the children who still live at home were at school. I was at work and the only ones home were Japheth and Caleb. Thankfully the smoke detector went off and Japheth grabbed Caleb and got out. The kitchen, bathroom, and Lucy, Alex, and Jenny’s bedroom was destroyed. That part of the house is being rebuilt and for the mean time the girls are staying in the living room.
19. The woman next door passed away in a car accident. She was a single mother. We have decided to let her 17 year old son live with us. He will be 18 on November 11th. He has curly brown hair and green eyes. His name is Zachary Louis.
20. We may be incredibly insane but we decided we wanted one more child. We adopted a daughter from England. She has wavy black hair and hazel eyes. She was born May 18th. Her name is Charlotte Leanne and she is 16 years old.
