First I'll introduce myself. My name is Maria Martin. My husband David and I live in München, Germany. Here, David works as a mechanic and I work as a 2nd grade teacher.
Year 1
A number of months after our marriage, I found out I was pregant! We were blessed with a healty baby girl. Her name is Adeline Renee. She has lots of black curly hair and hazel eyes just like David. I got to take a break from teaching to stay home with my newborn beauty, but now much to her dislike, she either has to go to daycare or my mom and dad's home.

Year 2
This year, David begged me to travel to the United States, somewhere he's wanted to go since he was a young child. I was worried how it would go with a one-year old, but finally I said yes. Poor little Adeline practically cried the whole flight, but I'm sure she had fun once we got there. She loved exploring all the new places.

Year 3
In April, we traveled to Berlin by train to celebrate David's brother's 30th birthday. We stayed there for almost a week. It was Adeline's first time on a train and also her first time seeing her cousins, Lucille and Maxwell. She had a blast playing with them.

Year 4
Adeline has shown an intrest in birds, so for her birthday we decided to get her a pet parakeet. We have heard they are good for starters. She loves to "play" with it. Even though it's a boy, she was determined to name it Lucy after her cousin Lucille. Adeline does not cry every morning when I leave for work, and even gets excited going to Grandma's house and to daycare.

Year 5
This year David suggested we start a new family hobby. Birdwatching. Ever since Adeline got her parakeet, she has spent all her time with it. So David thought we should try something new with her. She just loves looking for all the new kinds of birds and trys to draw them in her notebook. Normally we do this on a Saturday or Sunday when David and I are not as busy, but now all Adeline does is beg to "wook for da birdies", and it is so hard to say no to that. So now we also go outside one Wednesdays.

Year 6
This year David's company transfered. It wasn't that far away, about an hour outside of München, but David has to be at work at 5 o'clock every morning, so we decided it would be best to move. Adeline seems to be scared of our new home. It it much bigger than the old house with more property (so we don't have to go to the park to birdwatch), but for some reason Adeline its scared of getting lost. She is ajusting fine, though. We moved in the summer so Adeline could start preschool at the beginning of the school year, when the other boys and girls were meeting eachother and making friends. Adeline is loving preschool and making lots of friends.

Year 7
Since Adeline loves all animals (not just birds, anymore) and we have so much land, we decided to get a goat! Adeline likes riding on it, but the goat doesn't. We let her name it and since it's stubborn Adeline named it Max because her cousin Maxwell can also be very stubborn as well. This year David's brother came to visit us and Adeline was very happy since she had not seen her cousins in 4 years. Both Lucille and Maxwell were delighted to see that Adeline named her pets after them. Our little Adeline is such a sweet girl!

Year 8
This year, I found out I was pregnant with twins! One boy and one girl. We named them Lucas Robert (after David) and Olivia Claire (after my mother, Claire Elisabeth). Lucas has a little blonde, straight hair just like David, and he had brown eyes that come from Davids side of the family. Olivia has beautiful amber eyes and the black hair that my mom, my dad, and all my siblings have. I'm the only one in the family that had red hair in which we have no clue where that came from. Olivia's hair is wavy just like mine. At first Adeline did not like her brother and sister at all and couldn't bare to share her toys with them but then I pointed out that she had to share in school and she was totally fine with it. Adeline can be so weird sometimes! Now she loves Lucas and Olivia!

Year 9
In honor of the twins' first birthday, we decided to take a trip to England. David has friends living there with their three and seven-year olds so we decided to visit them. We had a huge party for the twins and for Mary was turning three the next day. The kids had a blast together and we hope to go back someday.

We have been blessed with another set of twins! Ava Maria and Ian David after David and I. Ava and Ian, despite the fact one is a girl and the other is a boy, are almost identical. They both have the black hair that all my family has. The only other differece is Ava has blue eyes and Ian has David's hazel eyes. Now I am an estatic mother of five! I grew up in a big family and loved it and David, only having an older brother, wished he had more siblings, so we were both delighted at the birth of Ava and Ian.

Year 11
David, David, David. This year David persuaded me (he's a very good persuader!) to adopt. And he wanted to adopt newborn twins! With two three year-olds and two one year-olds, this was a lot! But, as always, I finally gave in. Soon we were on our way to France to pick up our two beautiful daughters, Clara Elisabeth (named after my mom) and Eloise Corinne (named after David's mom Elena Corinne). Clara and Ellie are identical and have straight dark brown hair, brown eyes and pale skin. The whole family loves them!

Year 12
We had such a great expiriance adopting, so we decided to adopt another. This time, though, we decided to adopt an older child. In November, we welcomed William Sean, a thirteen year-old from Ireland. We were going to change Will's middle name to honor my dad, but he asked to keep it because it was his birth father's name who died when he was eleven. He wanted to keep it even though his father had abused him. His irresponible abandoned the family when Will was three, leaving him in the care of his abusive father. Will, in many ways actually looks a lot like me. He has curly red hair, fair skin, and freckles like me. His eyes are the most beautiful shade of green. Will has had a very tramatic past and will need lots of counsling. He is a very quiet boy who hardly talks at all. I know he is happy to be adopted, but it is so very hard for him. He cries himself to sleep every single night. He is ajusting well for someone like him. He hardly ever smiles, though I do know he finds joy in Lucas and Olivia who are always trying to cheer him up. The rest of the kids, except Adeline, don't really know whats going on. Adeline is not doing well at all. She always liked being the oldest so she could boss the younger kids around. She tries to boss Will around and he gets mad and tackles her. He starts screaming and swearing in Gaelic. Adeline is also used to getting a lot of attention, but now Will is stealing it from her. All in all, they hate eachother and it's going to be a lot of work for David and I. What were we ever thinking.

Year 13
This year we welcomed another little bundle of joy in this world. Elijah Mark (named after David's dad Robert Mark) has wavy brown hair and my gray eyes. He is a precious little thing. Will's behaviours are getting worse. He is getting into a lot of trouble at school and has gotten suspended multiple times. He has been diagnosed with RAD. Our younger children are almost scared of him. He and Adeline could not look at eachother without scowling. Neither have been coping well. Both are seeing counslers. To make it even worse, Lucy, Adeline's parakeet has died. She is absolutly devestated. David and I just don't know what to do for our family that's falling apart. We love all the children dearly but don't know what to do.

Year 14
This year, our children's behaviours are not getting any better. Adeline is showing early signs of depression. Will is still getting in trouble at school. He is close to getting expelled. We heard of a lady who takes in chidren with "problems" and teaches them how to cope. We heard she is very loving, but strict, and there are a lot of success stories about her. Will moved in with her around April and it is now July. He'll come home around November. So far, Will's behaviours are the same if not worse. It would be a huge miracle if our dear son gets healed. In the mean time, our family headed to Canada to visit my sister. She just adopted her first child from Mexico. It was a great opportunity for the whole family to take a bread from the stress of our everyday life.

Year 15
Last year, Will came home. He is doing wonderful compared to two years ago! He still gets in a lot of trouble, but he's improving everyday. It's especially hard for him being a high schooler, but he's working through it. It's a miracle how well he's doing! Adeline's signs of deppression are going away, but it does run in David's family, so you never know! Will and Adeline are still both getting counsling, but they can now have a convorsation with eachother without yelling (a big improvment!). The rest of the kids are doing wonderful as well. Little Elijah is walking and talking lots! Clara and Ellie are very excited for starting preschool. Ava, like Adeline, has found a passion for birdwatching so we take her to the park all the time where she draws all the birds she sees. Lucas and Olivia have a sudden obbession of geology after learning about it in 1st grade. They love teaching it to Ian and he loves learning from them. All the younger kids are showing signs that they'll excel in school. Things in my brother's house are not going so well, so he asked me to adopt his son, Logan Samuel (named after our dad, Samuel). He said he knew I would be a very loving mother for his son. My brother, like most of my family lives in Canada, so we traveled there to pick Logan up. He very small for his age. He has black hair and bright green eyes. He is ajusting pretty well, and stays in touch with him daily.

This year we took a family vacation to Japan. We stayed there for almost a month and all the kids had a great time! Adeline, no longer does counsling and she is almost back to normal. Will does better and better each day, but still is in counsling. He is staying out of trouble in high school.

Year 17
Lucas and Olivia are still into geology, and wanted to start a hobby geology related. Will suggested rock climbing. So now every Saturday we go to a local climbing place and take lessons to improve skill and just climb. The whole family loves it! Will is doing amazing. He says in his whole life he's never had a happier year. He loves little kids and all my younger children love him! No longer are they scared of him.

Year 18
One particually sad thing occured this year. Max the goat died. Adeline, even at the age of 17 was the most sad because she remembered getting the goat. I was even sad even though all the years I thought of Max as a big hassle. Another very happy thing also occured. We got a telephone call trying to find a family for three year-old triplets. Three is a lot, but we just couldn't resist. Miriam Rose, Naomi Kate, and Andrew John. Miriam and Naomi are named after my sister (Katherine Rose, and Andrew is named after David's brother (Zachary John). The triplets are from Munich, Germany, where we used to live. Miriam has brown hair and electrifying violet eyes, Naomi has blonde hair and brown eyes and Andrew has brown hair and brown eyes. Both girls have wavy hair, and Andrew's hair is more curly. Elijah loves having little sibblings to play with.

Year 19
When Will found out he had a biological brother in an orphanage, he begged us to adopt him. We finally said yes. We adopted eight year-old Ethan Zachary (named after David's brother) from Ireland. He is almost identical to Will with his curly red hair, bright green eyes and freckles. The only difference is Ethan has a whole face full of freckles, and Will only has a nose full. Will and Ethan started chit chatting like they knew eachother their whole lives. Ethan, unlike Will, was so happy to be away from the orphanage and ajusted perfectly. Ethan and Will's mother left Ethan's father just like she did to Will's father and he tried his hardest but could not take care of baby Ethan so he went to an orphanage. It broke my heart and I started to cry to see Will and Ethan united at last!

Year 20
Will is in his third year of college and is doing great. He has many friends including a very nice girlfriend. Adeline is in her first year of college and is doing well, despite how nervous she was to start. Logan is doing great. He still misses his father, but knows his father just couldn't take care of him and raise him properly. He gets along well with all is siblings and loves his parents (though he sometimes still calles them by aunt or uncle). He is beginning to accept them as his real parents through adoption. Lucas and Olivia are doing wonderful in school excelling in every subject. Olivia is a devoted basketball player and loves all sports. Lucas is not so fond of sports and puts all his extra time into either becoming better academically or drawing or playing his voilin. He is also part of multiple choirs. Ian and Ava continue to get along excellent. They play together every day. They have a great imagination and love playing pretend. Ethan struggles academically and almost failed 2nd grade, but he is a social butterfly. He is friends with everyone in his grade and is always there when someone needs a friend. Clara and Ellie don't get along as well as Ian and Ava but don't exactly hate eachother. They both dream of going back to France to see where they came from. We are planning to do that next year. Clara, like Olivia loves sports. She is one of the best athletes in her grade. She loves hanging out with Ethan and loves playing hockey with him. Ellie loves nature. She reads all about different plants and animals all the time. She's almost always outside. She too, has developed a love for birdwatching. Elijah is a very, very hyper boy. He gets into trouble at school because he can never walk down the halls or use his inside voice. His favorite thing to do is annoy his older sisters. Andrew has taken after Elijah. He never runs out of energy and is very annoying to most of his sisters. Naomi and Andrew get along perfectly, but Miriam and Andrew are always quarreling. Naomi and Miriam love playing house together. Miriam wants to own a farm when she grows up and she really wants a pet goat. She hears lots of stories about Max all the time. Naomi takes gymnastics classes and loves them. She plans on being a cheerleader when she gets older. David still works as a mechanic and I am planning on retiring my job as a teacher to stay home with my precious children. THE END

Will has had a very tramatic past and will need lots of counsling. He is a very quiet boy who hardly talks at all. I know he is happy to be adopted, but it is so very hard for him. He cries himself to sleep every single night. He is ajusting well for someone like him. He hardly ever smiles, though I do know he finds joy in Lucas and Olivia who are always trying to cheer him up. The rest of the kids, except Adeline, don't really know whats going on. Adeline is not doing well at all. She always liked being the oldest so she could boss the younger kids around. She tries to boss Will around and he gets mad and tackles her. He starts screaming and swearing in Gaelic. Adeline is also used to getting a lot of attention, but now Will is stealing it from her. All in all, they hate eachother and it's going to be a lot of work for David and I. What were we ever thinking.

Year 13
This year we welcomed another little bundle of joy in this world. Elijah Mark (named after David's dad Robert Mark) has wavy brown hair and my gray eyes. He is a precious little thing. Will's behaviours are getting worse. He is getting into a lot of trouble at school and has gotten suspended multiple times. He has been diagnosed with RAD. Our younger children are almost scared of him. He and Adeline could not look at eachother without scowling. Neither have been coping well. Both are seeing counslers. To make it even worse, Lucy, Adeline's parakeet has died. She is absolutly devestated. David and I just don't know what to do for our family that's falling apart. We love all the children dearly but don't know what to do.

Year 14
This year, our children's behaviours are not getting any better. Adeline is showing early signs of depression. Will is still getting in trouble at school. He is close to getting expelled. We heard of a lady who takes in chidren with "problems" and teaches them how to cope. We heard she is very loving, but strict, and there are a lot of success stories about her. Will moved in with her around April and it is now July. He'll come home around November. So far, Will's behaviours are the same if not worse. It would be a huge miracle if our dear son gets healed. In the mean time, our family headed to Canada to visit my sister. She just adopted her first child from Mexico. It was a great opportunity for the whole family to take a bread from the stress of our everyday life.

Year 15
Last year, Will came home. He is doing wonderful compared to two years ago! He still gets in a lot of trouble, but he's improving everyday. It's especially hard for him being a high schooler, but he's working through it. It's a miracle how well he's doing! Adeline's signs of deppression are going away, but it does run in David's family, so you never know! Will and Adeline are still both getting counsling, but they can now have a convorsation with eachother without yelling (a big improvment!). The rest of the kids are doing wonderful as well. Little Elijah is walking and talking lots! Clara and Ellie are very excited for starting preschool. Ava, like Adeline, has found a passion for birdwatching so we take her to the park all the time where she draws all the birds she sees. Lucas and Olivia have a sudden obbession of geology after learning about it in 1st grade. They love teaching it to Ian and he loves learning from them. All the younger kids are showing signs that they'll excel in school. Things in my brother's house are not going so well, so he asked me to adopt his son, Logan Samuel (named after our dad, Samuel). He said he knew I would be a very loving mother for his son. My brother, like most of my family lives in Canada, so we traveled there to pick Logan up. He very small for his age. He has black hair and bright green eyes. He is ajusting pretty well, and stays in touch with him daily.

Year 16
This year we took a family vacation to Japan. We stayed there for almost a month and all the kids had a great time! Adeline, no longer does counsling and she is almost back to normal. Will does better and better each day, but still is in counsling. He is staying out of trouble in high school.

Year 17
Lucas and Olivia are still into geology, and wanted to start a hobby geology related. Will suggested rock climbing. So now every Saturday we go to a local climbing place and take lessons to improve skill and just climb. The whole family loves it! Will is doing amazing. He says in his whole life he's never had a happier year. He loves little kids and all my younger children love him! No longer are they scared of him.

Year 18
One particually sad thing occured this year. Max the goat died. Adeline, even at the age of 17 was the most sad because she remembered getting the goat. I was even sad even though all the years I thought of Max as a big hassle. Another very happy thing also occured. We got a telephone call trying to find a family for three year-old triplets. Three is a lot, but we just couldn't resist. Miriam Rose, Naomi Kate, and Andrew John. Miriam and Naomi are named after my sister (Katherine Rose, and Andrew is named after David's brother (Zachary John). The triplets are from Munich, Germany, where we used to live. Miriam has brown hair and electrifying violet eyes, Naomi has blonde hair and brown eyes and Andrew has brown hair and brown eyes. Both girls have wavy hair, and Andrew's hair is more curly. Elijah loves having little sibblings to play with.

Year 19
When Will found out he had a biological brother in an orphanage, he begged us to adopt him. We finally said yes. We adopted eight year-old Ethan Zachary (named after David's brother) from Ireland. He is almost identical to Will with his curly red hair, bright green eyes and freckles. The only difference is Ethan has a whole face full of freckles, and Will only has a nose full. Will and Ethan started chit chatting like they knew eachother their whole lives. Ethan, unlike Will, was so happy to be away from the orphanage and ajusted perfectly. Ethan and Will's mother left Ethan's father just like she did to Will's father and he tried his hardest but could not take care of baby Ethan so he went to an orphanage. It broke my heart and I started to cry to see Will and Ethan united at last!

Year 20
Will is in his third year of college and is doing great. He has many friends including a very nice girlfriend. Adeline is in her first year of college and is doing well, despite how nervous she was to start. Logan is doing great. He still misses his father, but knows his father just couldn't take care of him and raise him properly. He gets along well with all is siblings and loves his parents (though he sometimes still calles them by aunt or uncle). He is beginning to accept them as his real parents through adoption. Lucas and Olivia are doing wonderful in school excelling in every subject. Olivia is a devoted basketball player and loves all sports. Lucas is not so fond of sports and puts all his extra time into either becoming better academically or drawing or playing his voilin. He is also part of multiple choirs. Ian and Ava continue to get along excellent. They play together every day. They have a great imagination and love playing pretend. Ethan struggles academically and almost failed 2nd grade, but he is a social butterfly. He is friends with everyone in his grade and is always there when someone needs a friend. Clara and Ellie don't get along as well as Ian and Ava but don't exactly hate eachother. They both dream of going back to France to see where they came from. We are planning to do that next year. Clara, like Olivia loves sports. She is one of the best athletes in her grade. She loves hanging out with Ethan and loves playing hockey with him. Ellie loves nature. She reads all about different plants and animals all the time. She's almost always outside. She too, has developed a love for birdwatching. Elijah is a very, very hyper boy. He gets into trouble at school because he can never walk down the halls or use his inside voice. His favorite thing to do is annoy his older sisters. Andrew has taken after Elijah. He never runs out of energy and is very annoying to most of his sisters. Naomi and Andrew get along perfectly, but Miriam and Andrew are always quarreling. Naomi and Miriam love playing house together. Miriam wants to own a farm when she grows up and she really wants a pet goat. She hears lots of stories about Max all the time. Naomi takes gymnastics classes and loves them. She plans on being a cheerleader when she gets older. David still works as a mechanic and I am planning on retiring my job as a teacher to stay home with my precious children. THE END
