Status: Royal Family (Sister and brother-in-law to the Queen)This year has brought Hermione and her family much happiness. Castor and Leda were married in a lovely ceremony in the springtime and continue their training as healers. They work almost exclusively as a team now, with Castor developing new non-magical healing techniques and Leda supplemented these with established magical procedures. They are very happy together, and live a quiet life in their apartments at Court.Athena was very involved in planning her sister's wedding, and adding those stresses to her rigorous coursework, she was exhausted for much of the past year. Hector buried himself in his coursework and for a few months, the couple grew apart. One night, however, Athena returned to their apartments from a long day and broke down into tears. Hector comforted his young wife, and something changed between the two of them. They have become intimate and romantic with each other, where there was only friendship before. Athena is quietly nervous that this is only temporary, and hopes that when it cools, their friendship will still be intact. Just before Leda's wedding, Athena found herself feeling very ill. Not wanting to disturb her sister's happiness, Athena sought out her cousin Ione's husband, Arthur, whom she had known for several years. Arthur happily informed his cousin that she was not grievously ill, but pregnant! Arthur had been taking care of Ione during her pregnancy, and was happy to see that he and his wife would not be alone in young parenthood. In the midst of all the wedding preparations in the family, Athena asked Arthur to keep her pregnancy to himself. Though she of course told Hector, Athena kept the news between them, waiting for the best time to tell the family. However, there seemed to be no right time! Weddings were soon overshadowed by the birth of Ione's daughter Elizabeth. Before she knew it, Athena was beginning to outgrow her Court gowns and mage robes, and still she hadn't made the announcement! It so happened that the day after Athena finally told her parents and her aunt the Queen of her pregnancy, Crown Princess Chloe announced that she too was expecting a child, though not quite as soon as Athena! Athena became the second of the cousins to give birth after a long and trying labor and delivery. Leda was instrumental in helping Athena through her difficult labor, and at the end of a nearly a day and a half's work, Athena and Hector welcomed a handsome and healthy son. Baby Apollo was given his middle names after both of his grandfathers, and is by right a Prince in Hector's native Dakla, though he will not ascend the throne unless his uncle dies without an heir. Hector's brother is still searching for a wife, but Dakla is confident that he will be successful shortly. Melaina's seamstress abilities are growing, but so is her interest in the young men at Court. She has become quite the little flirt, and though she is not magical, she enjoys the group of young people that has sprung around her cousin Argus. She also enjoys spending time with her cousin Dominic, and seems to be the feminine counterpart to her two flirtatious male cousins. Their social circles have grown together into quite a large retinue of young men and women, with Dominic as the head of the boys, and Melaina as the leader of the girls.Robert enjoys hunting with his father, uncles, and especially his cousin Leon, but he also misses his sister Niobe on the overnight hunting trips. He is a brave and noble boy, and stands up for anybody who is being picked on at the school, especially his cousin Patroklos, who is quite the bookworm.Niobe has officially entered her aunt Ari's tutelage and hopes to one day be a successful spy like her aunt. Ari has also taken over Niobe's magical training, supplementing the basic training she received at her parents' academy with specialized magics. Niobe is still an active and athletic tomboy, but resists a little less when forced into dresses for formal occasions. She is absorbed in her wish to be a spy, and has attested she will never marry and will devote her life to serving her cousin the Crown Princess. Hermione thinks this is a little extreme, and hopes her daughter will grow out of this phase soon. Little Phaedra is still a sickly little girl, and is often confined to quarters with a personal healer. She is receiving private tutoring to learn her letters, but has been too weak to begin magical training in earnest.
