Nick and Gloria travel to Africa to work as missionaries. Nick's brother, Christopher, is a priest there helping the Africans in need. Gloria, Nick, and Christopher work hard all day long and sleep well all night long. Gloria and Nick have a wonderful time there, and it's an experience they'll never forget.

Nick and Gloria, while stopping by Austria, meet a fourteen-year-old orphan girl. Franziska Elisabeth Seipel has dirty, stringy blonde curls and forlorn, desperate-looking blue eyes. Gloria's heart went right out to the girl and she and Nick couldn't help but bring Franziska into their home.
Franziska loves to sing and read and write. She's always singing or humming something. Gloria finds that her adopted daughter is quite the cheerful thing.

She repented, but her parents still wouldn't let her back in, so Nick and Gloria became the parents of Ceara Brigid (17), Dymphna Keelin (5 mo.), and Liadan Tara (5 mo.). Ceara, Dymphna, and Liadan are settling down and happy as the newest Boscoes.
