Wil and Bekah have had a busy three years. Their kids are growing up, leaving home, and beginning lives of their own.
Catie and Henry's marriage is going well. Their first child--a boy named Brian--was born just a few months ago. Catie loves her teaching job, but has found that she loves being a mother as well. Henry is still teaching high school science. He isn't too sure about raising a child. He says that his parents didn't do a good job on him and he doesn't want to mess up raising his own kids. Catie can always convince him that he'll do fine.
Darcy is still in college and he is looking forward to his senior year. He recently proposed to his girlfriend, Toni.
Annie has had a rough couple of years. Two years ago, she decided to transfer to a college about an hour and a half away from Wil and Bekah. She fell into the wrong crowd and started doing all sorts of things--drugs, alcohol, boys, crimes, you name it. Six months ago she was arrested by the local police for theft and vandalism and the school kicked her out for the remainder of the school year. Annie moved back in with Wil and Bekah, but she's had a hard time there too. She is currently attending counseling, but doesn't seem to be putting any effort into it.
Violet is now 19. She is in her freshman year of college at the same place Darcy goes to school. Darcy has been watching out for Violet, and she doesn't mind him checking in on her from time to time. Violet is studying music therapy and she really enjoys it. In addition to violin and piano, she is also taking voice and guitar lessons to broaden her musical abilities.
Eli is 17. He has worked hard to become one of the most promising hunter jumper competitors in the country. He has cleaned house in the youth divisions and is looking forward to competing in the adult and amateur arenas next year. He has no plans to go to college, but wants to make a living by competing in horseback riding.
Addie, 13, is trying hard to follow in Eli's footsteps. She looks up to him as her mentor now, and wants to be as good at riding horses as he is. Most of her spare time is spent at the barn, learning.
Denver is 9. He can't wait to turn 10 and be a "big kid". He is very outgoing and has a charming personality. He likes to draw and paint. He was upset when Annie came back to the family because she wasn't the same as when she left. He has declared that he will never go to college because of Annie's troubles there.
