Beatrix and Lily met when Beatrix went up to Toronto to dance in a ballet ensemble. Lily's friends had dragged her to it and she found herself enthralled by the gorgeous black-haired woman on the stage. Afterwards, she snuck backstage to talk to Beatrix and thank her for an amazing performance. The two struck up a conversation after that and kept in contact through letters and e-mail for the next year and a half before Lily decided to confess her attraction. The two dated for a year before deciding to get married and move to Alberta.
Beatrix's mother is happy for her daughter and thinks that the pair are good for each other but Lily has had no contact with her parents since she told them about having a girlfriend. Lily does, however, keep in contact with her two siblings James and Charlotte.
