Rank: Princess and Prince (sister and brother-and-law to the king)Magdalena has been actively involved in the French problem. She has been mainly going to France, keeping Louis at bay with his demands for immediate help. She is glad her brother is officially neutral. She knows of his plan to assassinate Louis if it comes to it, but it sickens her a little and she prefers not to think about it. She and Joseph both feel it their duty to help in Walter's plans, though they miss being in Bial. Magdalena has it easier than Joseph, however, as she can always keep her family with her. Katarina especially enjoys being with Käthelëin and her other cousins from Adelheid. She loves her other cousins, but she has a special bond with Käthelëin.It was in France that little Sofia was born, the only one of her and Taddeo's children to be born away from Bial. Her consant strain and work made the birth difficult on Magdalena, and she became very weak after the birth. Taddeo has been very helpful in the entire campaign, but after Sofia's birth he took over many of her duties and proved himself quite able. Sometimes people forget that he was groomed for politics from his childhood, being the son of a duke, and he is actually quite adept. Katarina was a great help with the children when her mother became sick, making Magdalena and Taddeo very proud. She is a capable and intelligent girl, and both are glad that their sons and daugters have someone to look up to in their older sister. She has become quite a beautiful young girl, but Juliana, even at ten, somehow surpasses her. The two look alike, but there is something about Juliana that somehow sets her apart. Magdalena and Taddeo have been annoyed at times that no one notices their own daughter's beauty as they do Walter's child's. Juliana loves books and is a great reader, but she never misses a game outside with her cousins or siblings. Edmund is the one who often institutes these games; he has a genius for fun, Taddeo says, that rather impresses them. He gets along with everyone, and Magdalena sees a future as a diplomat for him. Margarete never seems to tire, and though only five is often included in the games of the older ones because she is never afraid to do even the most daring of stunts. Ludwig is her opposite and prefers to stay at his mother's skirts, watching. He was quite jealous of baby Sofia, though he quickly grew to love her. Sofia is a very good baby, and Magdalena swears she already smiles.
