The two bards from Orlais have been sent by the King in Val Royaleux, Orlais to be both spies and diplomats. Joachim is the diplomat, Leliana is the spy in this "artificially strategical" marriage for data collection. Their job could last an unknown period of time. Orlais is a rogue break-away city-state somewhere near the French-Belgian border.
