Lily and Owen have been married for about two years. They met at the publishing house where Lily works as an editor. He was a new hire and she was enlisted to show him around, and the two quickly hit it off. Owen quickly grew to love Lily's family, and both were devastated when they got the news about Grandpa Rick. They of course immediately went to be with the family. Though they live fairly nearby Lily's parents and sisters and see them tolerably often, it was the first time in a long time they had seen Lily's cousins, ants, and uncles. She was especially glad to see her cousins Hannah, Noah, and Hermione, with whom she has always been quite close. This was the first time she had met Hannah's girlfriend Josie or Noah's new wife Dani, whom she instantly liked. As the eldest of the vast clan of cousins, she naturally had to put up with a great deal of questions about when she would have the first great-grandchild, especially from her aunt Tiffany, who has always been somewhat of a busybody. There was no one she wasn't glad to see, though she was a bit shocked to learn that her cousins Viva and Lyra were engaged; she can't help but think of them as still teenagers. And though she was glad to see everyone, she wished it hadn't had to be for the funeral of her beloved Grandpa Rick.
