Pascal and Elias Descoteaux are off to school. In the past five years Lovise had Horace and Kristoffer. So far, she's had no little girls. Lovise loves her little boys, and wouldn't mind having more, though a daughter would be nice.

Three months after Dorothea and Kasper moved in with Ludovic and Lovise, they found a home of their own, and moved their growing family there. Unfortunately, their new home was hours away from the Descoteaux household, defeating much of the purpose of their moving to Austria.

Ludovic and Lovise decided to find a new home which was closer to Dorothea and Kasper than the one they were in at the time. It helped when Ludovic found a better job than the one he had before. Ludovic bought a house just across the street from Dorothea and Kasper's. The house was large enough for a growing family of boys, but it also doubled as a tailor's workshop and a fabric goods store. Ludovic and Lovise could work together while the littlest boys stayed either upstairs where they could be heard or across the street with the littlest children of Dorothea and Kasper.
