A year after their marriage, Cassius and Godiva welcomed their first child, a son named Lucius. Meanwhile, Cassius' sister, Agrippina wrote a letter out of the blue, asking for Cassius' help in emigrating to Brittania. This was after the death of her vile husband Nerva, whom her sole income depended on. Left penniless (as all the money she was hoping to inherit went to Nerva's first wife and children) and with a 8 year old son, Marcus, Cassius agreed to move them both to Brittania and into his home.
Godiva was unimpressed by the move, and tensions between her and Cassius ignited once Agrippina moved in. Having a new baby in the home, Godiva had hoped that she would have Cassius undivided attention, but that was not to be the case.
