Cat met Tim at the hospital where she was interning. He was a young father who was divorced from his wife. She had not been able to cope with the stress of their daughter's illness. Cassandra suffers from cystic fibrosis, and it was through her care that Cat and Tim met. Cat fell in love with Tim and Cassandra both, and after knowing each other for two years they married and Cat adopted Cassandra. Leo and Violet are worried about how Cat will be able to handle the stress of a sick child, but they have also fallen in love with Cassandra and adore Tim.
