Category: Duke and Duchess of Thealine, Ardelusian Empire
DH: Duke Prosper Rémy Augustin Cosme Delacroix, younger brother of the King (21)
DW: Duchess Apolline Mélisande Madeleine [nee Gentille] Delacroix, Lady of Queen Juliette's Chamber (19)
Prosper is the younger son of King Philippe and Queen Gisèle. As such he holds the traditional title of second sons of the king, Duke of Thealine. He, like his elder brother, has Delacroix wavy dark hair and bright blue eyes, though his brother has always been lauded as the handsomer of the two. He is intelligent and quick-witted. He and Thibault have been close since their childhood, and lives at Court where he often meets with his brother, the King. Prosper is well liked by the Ardelusian people, who still refer to him as Prince Prosper, though Duke is really more correct.
Prosper married Apolline Gentille, a member of the old nobility, very recently. The marriage was advantageous politically, securing the succession should anything happen to King Thibault, and not truly a love match. Apolline and Prosper have been acquainted since childhood, as her family was often at Court, and she has been a lady of the queen's household since the queen's marriage. Apolline's father is the marquis of Brinon, a very high ranking nobleman.
Apolline herself is a close friend of Queen Juliette from youth. The daughters of noblemen, Juliette and Apolline were friends in the days as maidens at Court. Apolline was always eclipsed by Juliette, fairer and betrothed to the heir apparent. Apolline has dark blonde hair and clear gray eyes. She is much quieter than the queen, but she is very bright and has a quick sense of humor that Prosper appreciates.
Prosper and Apolline's marriage improves constantly. They have discovered that they have some common ground to talk about. They have their own household, but are currently living at Court in apartments fitting their status as second highest couple in the land.

Yes in a nut shell, I dont know about removed from succession maybe between the three of us we can decide if there were other son's or just one that would allow him to keep Henry Gaston has an heir, but yes he recognized that he was his son and gave him lands and a title and married off his mistress out of love.
Loving this ladies!
So Thibault & Prosper's grandfather, King ???, had a mistress whom he loved very much named Caroline. With Caroline, he had 2 children, a son Henry, and a daughter ???. King ??? arranged a marriage for Caroline with a wealthy landowner, Duke Pierre Charles Beauxchamp, to ensure that his son & daughter would be raised as nobles even if they couldn't be given the title of prince & princess... So, King ??? is actually the grandfather of Thibault, Prosper & Maximilien, which would make Maximilien the cousin of Thibault & Prosper - a fact that they all well know and acknowledge in private... and any other family that people sign up!
As for the name of the King, perhaps one of Thibault's middle names is after his grandfather? So Benoît, Louis or Baptiste? So all the names are in there, how about King Benoît Henry Augustin Pierre?
I'm going to starting 'building' a family tree under my signup so we can keep the family straight starting with King ??? and working down...

Great! I am so looking forward to this!It will be great to see how it unfolds!
This looks great! I'm so excited! :)
The issue with Max's succession is that he would be quite far removed in blood because of his illegitimacy. King Benoit's son succeeded him and then Thibault succeeded him. Thibault's issue would be first in line, followed by his brother, Prosper. Next would like be their uncles and any nephews they have, etc.
So he probably COULD inherit in a major crisis, but there's a lot of people there. :)
I'm taking a history course on Tudor England at the moment so this is especially fun!

Both can be Ardelusian...(m)
If you would like to be Krianan that would be fine, but there's no limit to how many nobles or any category there can be. Except for the royals of course. But it's up to you.
