Out of a horrible tradegy comes a happy ending... While in university Lily made friends with a girl named Holly. Holly was alone in the world, an only child whose parents were killed in a plane crash when she was a baby. She'd been raised by her grandparents, but they'd since died as well. Lily and Holly became as close as sisters, and when Holly got pregnant and the father didn't stick around, it was Lily who was there for her. Holly welcomed a little girl, Delaney, and Lily & Holly were raising Keely & Delaney as sisters that's how close they all were.
Delaney was only a few months old when Holly started getting terrible headaches. The doctors were concerned and sent her for a CAT scan which showed the tumour on her brain that had gone undected for years... It was inoperable and the doctors told Holly that she'd have maybe a year. Lily & Kevin invited Holly and Delaney to move in with them so they could look after them both. Time passed and Holly's condition slowly got worse. She surpassed doctors expectations though, living for 20 months after her diagnosis, and she asked Lily and Kevin to raise her daughter, to which they agreed.
Kevin & Lily have officially adopted Delaney now, and she'll use their surname Lincoln, but they've given her Holly's name, Hutchins, as a second middle name.

B. A close friend dies from cancer. Kevin and Lily decide to adopt her little daughter. The girl’s first name ends with –y and her first middle name starts with Me-. Her 2nd middle name is a surname (her original last name).
