Tamir and Ayelet were scared when they found out that they were expecting another child. From the very beginning of Ayelet's pregnancy, they expected something bad to happen again, so both of the Shafirs made every effort they could to keep her stress level down. When the boys found out, Dan was excited and Gil, being so little, didn't understand. The baby, Gali, was born healthy. She's a good girl, but she loves to be the center of attention.
When Ayelet discovered her she was pregnant again, when Gali was about nine months old, she wasn't scared in the way she had been when her older daughter was born. Rather that worrying about her health, she worried about the way her husband and children would react to the news and the new baby when she came. Tamir responded to the news pretty well and the boys seemed excited. This excitement, however, turned to sadness when Ayelet's grandfather, Ariel, died. After talking it over, Tamir and Ayelet decided to give the baby his name as her middle. Unlike her sister, Maya is a very mellow baby, who is content with being held.
