Ridiculously long update follows!
It is been a time of great joy with four new babies in the family in the past four years. First up were Sully and Tally with twins Rocco and Shilo. The couple had something of a rocky start to their relationship after getting married 6 weeks after meeting. The family was a little hesitant to give their support to the couple since everyone had their doubts that they would last. This put a lot of strain on the couple that threatened to tear them apart. Everything changed, however, six months after the wedding when Tallulah realized she was pregnant! Impending parenthood helped the couple rediscover their love for each other and they finally had the strength to stand up to their families and give them a choice: accept that they were going to be together or break off all contact. Sullivan and Tallulah were not willing to let their families drive them apart, especially not with a baby on the way. The families finally saw reason and started truly respecting Sully and Tally as a couple after that and everyone joined in the celebration of the baby on the way. Finally things were looking up! They were in for another shock when the doctor announced that they were having twins! They probably shouldn’t have been surprised since twins run in both of their families and Tallulah herself is a twin. Not long after, Tallulah gave birth to Rocco and Shilo who have turned into precocious toddlers that get into everything. Poor Rocco, in a desperate attempt to swipe some cookies, recently broke his arm so Sully saw fit to install an absurd number of baby gates around the house. Anything to protect his children! His bachelor ways are truly behind him now, as he has turned into quite the family man.
The year after the twins were born, Harriet welcomed a baby brother into the world! Now two, Leo Verdi is an absolute doll. He has dark curls and bight green eyes that make everyone who meets him fall in love. Ambrose and Winter absolutely dote on him and Harriet loves showing off her “bwudda weo.”
The last addition to the family came as a complete surprise. Juno assembled her parents one stormy evening and admitted that Jake, her boyfriend of just two months, had gotten her pregnant. Jake insisted she get an abortion as soon as he found out and when she refused, he broke up with her. Juno was disgusted with herself for ever trusting him and vowed to carry on alone. Though her parents were certainly less than thrilled that their 17-year old high schooler was pregnant, they banded together to help her. She chose to keep her little girl, who she will name Lola Pandora Roxanne. Fortunately with Ambrose and Sullivan living on their own and Ranger and Donovan living at college, there is plenty of room for a new baby in the house.
Speaking of Ranger and Donovan…Ranger is a sophomore in college pursuing a degree in Spanish education degree with a minor in Italian. He is still playing soccer but hopes to become a Spanish teacher and participate in study abroad soon.
Donovan, shortly after leaving for college, came out as gay in an emotional hailstorm. He was terrified that he would be disowned, much though his parents have never shown any signs of intolerance or prejudice. Rowan and Delia were not terribly surprised by his admission and did everything they could to reassure him that they love and accept him no matter what. It has been a hard fought battle but Donovan has turned the corner on accepting who he is and is even a part of a gay pride group on campus now.
Ephraim graduated with high honors from high school recently and is soon going to start at a local college that will allow him to live at home. He has chosen to pursue a physics and international relations dual major first although he hopes to earn at least four degrees before he reaches 20. Fortunately for his parents, Ephraim has been granted a full ride scholarship.
Calvin and Oliver have started middle school and are doing well. Calvin is often thought of as a class clown and has already been facing some disciplinary problems. Oliver, on the other hand, is a well mannered young man who has taken up the violin in the band but is taking cello lessons outside of school and hopes to take part in the community youth orchestra soon.
Blair will soon start middle school herself and is looking forward to it. Delia and Rowan cannot believe their baby is already finishing up elementary school. They really do grow up so fast! Blair is undoubtedly a wild child. She spends all afternoon running around barefoot, often playing football with the boys or digging up worms. When the weather is bad, she stays inside and “performs science.” This usually involves talking her mom, dad, or an older sibling into putting whatever various things Blair mixes together into the oven or into a saucepan to see what happens.
