Altan and Enver are siblings from Dörtyol, Turkey, and they are 4 and 1 years old respectively. They lost their parents in an earthquake six months ago and have no known relatives. Altan has straight black hair, brown eyes and olive skin. He likes playing with building blocks and clay, fingerpainting, animals and playing football (soccer). Enver has brown eyes and olive skin like his brother, but his hair, though also straight, is brown. He likes being sung and read to, toy cars, being tickled and colourful clothes. The boys only speak Turkish and have thus far been raised Muslim.
Both Altan and Enver have a genetic disease called phenylketonuria, in which the body is not able to metabolise a substance, phenylalanine, properly. They must follow a strict, low-phenylalanine diet until their late teens, complemented with nutritional supplements and frequent blood tests.
Please let us know how Altan and Enver are doing!

Although Altan & Enver have phenylketonuria, they are adjusting very well into the Sari family! The boys have an English tutor 5 times a week to learn English & French. Now the boys communicate with the girls & parents by pictures, until they learn one of the languages spoken in the Sari household.
Savannah, Julianna, Leah, & Kristen love their new brothers! Leah loves that she has Altan to play with & they're close in age. Savannah & Julianna love that they have a brother to play soccer with! Kristen doesn't really understand the whole deal with getting two new brothers who don't speak her languages, but she loves to play with them!
Altan & Enver aren't truly used to having dogs around, so Jordan & Hank are something new for them. So far, the boys love the dogs! They play with them, get dirty with them, & even sleep in the same bed! Jordan & Hank are very protection over the family, but especially Altan & Enver.
Bethany & Patrick love having boys, especially Patrick! Patrick has always wanted little boys & finally it happened! Patrick has already started playing baseball, football, & soccer with Altan! Patrick's excited for Enver to get older so that he can teach him sports!
Altan & Enver love their new life & going on new adventures in the US! Everything is going marvelous for the Sari's.
