She's out and about playing with the neighbor boy, a kindhearted little boy of four, all the time. She and he get along the best of any little children Louis and Veronica have ever seen. When Ari was only a year old, little Klytie Leah Constance came along. Called Tia, Klytie is quite the artistic little being. She is prissy and refuses to wear pants. She won't allow her mother to even think of putting her in anything but a cutesy dress. Just recently, little Bryant came along. He was born prematurely, but he's a real fighter. He's been fighting his whole short life, and will continue to do so. Caleb is the perfect child. Almost too perfect. He never whines or complains. He always obeys immediately. He helps his siblings. He does his homework in enough time to help his mother. At times Nikki wonders if there is something wrong with the child. But, no. He's perfectly normal. Josiah on the other hand... well, he's a bit of a handful. Even at eleven, Josiah Vander Halt is wild and rambunctious. He is almost the opposite of his twin, though that is only at times. Most of the time, he whines a little, complains a little, does the usual childish things, but in a healthy proportion. Never once does it cross Veronica Vander Halt's mind that THIS son has something wrong with him. No siree. Aidyn, despite his father's pleads, is a shy little thing. At nine years old he is in fourth grade this year. So far he hasn't made any friends and his parents are pondering putting their children into a private school. One that would teach their children the way they think their children should be taught. Louis is hoping that Aidyn will become better at making friends than he is currently. Now that Percy and Sandy are eight years old and big third graders already, their personalities seem to have switched. Percy is the one that is rather rambunctious. She's always bouncing off the walls and excited for everything. Dark-haired Persis is a happy-go-lucky child. Sandy is now quiet. He has withdrawn from the world. On the first day of kindergarten he recoiled at the sight of all the children. He has always been quiet since. He's become a bookworm and interested in reading. Louis and Nikki are hoping to get Sandy out of this little stage, hoping that's just what it is: a stage. At six years old, Benny isn't loud and obnoxious nor quiet and withdrawn. He is the perfect volume for a child. Benny is rather an emotional child and his teacher often calls on a school day saying that Nikki needs to come visit for a little while. This is getting on Nikki's nerves. She has brought up the topic of putting their children in private school also partly because of Benny's emotionality. She and Louis haven't exactly made their decision on this yet, though.Hattie and Cassie are quite happy. They are a big four years old and quite obedient. These two have rarely left the others side. Nikki is hoping that when the time comes for them to start school, that they won't be heartbroken if they aren't in the same class. Once again, this is a reason for considering a small private school.
