This was fun! :D This is my first attempt at one of these, so I hope I did it right...

Year #1: Travel
Matthias and Tamra have been married for a little over a year, and after much hoarding of money and monitoring of finances, they celebrate the event by spending a week in Prague towards the end of September.
Year #2: Random ~ natural disaster
When everything seemed to be going to well, the town the couple live in is hit by a flood. Although their house sustains only mild damage, the house of one of their close friends is devastated, and they offer up their spare room to new lodgers until it is repaired.
Year #3: Pet
Tamra and Matthias’ neighbour’s cat has kittens, and they decide to adopt a small ginger tom. They name him Charlie.
Year #4: Travel
Leaving Charlie in the care of their neighbours, Matthias and Tamra decide to spend two weeks in the south of France, a holiday only marred by Matthias catching too much sun and returning home decidedly sunburnt.
Year #5: Family affair ~ Long term goal
Matthias achieves his long term goal of working in the kitchens at one of his favourite local restaurants, after several chefs were fired. He is delighted, but worries that it leaves even less time to spend with his wife.
Year #6: Birth
Their first child is born after worries that they might be unable to have children. Their first daughter, Ava Eluned, is born on Halloween, and her middle name is given in honour of her paternal grandmother. She has her mother’s wavy black hair, and the same eye colour as her father.
Year #7: Birth
A year after the birth of their daughter, Matthias and Tamra are surprised to find that they are once again expecting. They discovered the pregnancy in an odd way, after visiting the doctor because Tamra suspected she might have caught food poisoning at a dinner party held by her sister-in-law. Their first son has the same green eyes as his father, and straight brown hair. They decide to give him two mythological names -
Year #8: Job
After much hard work, Tamra receives a pay rise. The new parents debate moving to another house, but decide against it.
Year #9: Birth
The second son has a more uneventful birth than his older siblings, and is born with wavy brown hair and amber eyes. He also receives a mythological first name, and an unconventional middle name ~
Year #10: Family affair ~ Car crash
Tamra’s youngest sister is injured in a head-on car crash at a junction. Fortunately nobody was seriously injured or died, but Tamra’s sister did fracture her arm and suffered several minor injuries. An enquiry later discovers that she was drunk-driving. Tamra is furious.
Year #11: birth
The last biological Blake is born two weeks premature, with brown wavy hair and grey eyes. Tamra and Matthias name their daughter after a character by one of Matthias’ favourite writers, Virgil, the heroine of his ‘Eclogues’ ~ Amaryllis Zenaide.
Year #12: Random ~ Adoption
After hearing about it from a friend, Tamra and Matthias decide to adopt a child. After a long and complex procedure, they adopt a little black-haired hazel-eyed boy named X from Venezuela in South America. X is four years old, and immediately gets on well with the eldest son of the family.
Year #13: Travel
Matthias and Tamra decide to take their family to visit some of Matthias’ family in Ireland. This is their first family trip, and the first time the children have been out of the country, so all are in high spirits. Matthias’ family are delighted to meet the children, and say that they must visit themselves before too long.
Year #14: Pet
Charlie the cat is getting on in years, and although still healthy, is not the spritly young thing he used to be, and doesn’t seem interested in playing with the children. He spends most of his time snoozing, and gets cranky when disturbed. Tamra is nervous about getting another pet, but on her children’s insistence, they adopt a gentle, inquisitive white coloured 3 year old rescue cat named Socrates. Charlie initially dislikes Socs, but before long, they’re both found curled up side by side on the sofa.
Year #15: New Job
Matthias decides that his job is becoming too demanding of his time, and although the restaurant is now exceptionally popular, decides to quit. He takes up working in the local library, which doesn’t earn quite as much money but is less stressful and leaves him more time with his wife and kids. Tamra is initially sceptical, with the kids growing up fast, they need all the money they can get, and she can’t understand why he would abandon a job he worked his whole life at, but after much soul-searching realises how happy her husband is in his new job, and how much more of their children he sees. Ava especially takes a new interest in her father’s work, and watching her trawl through book after book, the couple hope that she might grow up to reach academic heights.
