YEAR 1: It has been a very happy first year of marriage for Jerry and Fern Ackerman. The only problem is that Jerry is off at work all the time, it seems. Wanting to be with eachother always, Fern quits her job as a clown and gets into fashion designing. The company realizes her "talent" (or more like tricks she stole from her husband), and partners up the duo. Now they are together in work, as well as free time!
YEAR 2: To celebrate their 2-year Anniversary, Jerry takes Fern on a vacation... to Washington D.C.! They are able to have a nice, lengthy tour of the White House and stay in a nearby hotel. On the drive back to their house the stop to sight-see at the many Historic sites along the way.
YEAR 3: Oh no! The day before the Ackerman's 3-year Anniversary, Fern gets fired from the Company! They have finally realized that she is only there for her husband, and not actually for the work. The income the two receive is suddenly chopped in half and, because of this, they go through a rough patch were they are just scraping by their now-enormous debt. Fern continues to look for a job, and although they are receiving less, it dampens neither of their spirits.
YEAR 4: After trying to have a child for 2 years, the couple finally makes up their mind to adopt. They fall in love with a 2-year-old French girl named Anastasie Fleurette. She has long, blond hair and hazel eyes. The can't wait until the adoption is finalized and Anastasie is finally theirs! Unfortunately, Jerry is having the worst time trying to pronounce her name, and Fern insists that they don't change it. So they will call her Annie, instead.
YEAR 5: The adoption is finally finalized, and to celebrate the occasion, Jerry and Fern are taking 3-year-old Annie to Walt Disney World! Annie loves the Spinning Teacups (which she calls the "Teepup Ride"), and especially loves the Disney princess. But not Mickey Mouse. He just scares her.
YEAR 6: Jerry's psychotic brother dies in a car accident, and leaves 3 kids: Stacey Violet (4), Oliver George (2), and Aaliyah Margaret (nb). Jerry volunteers to take in his deceased brother's kids without Fern's knowledge, but Fern is eager to help the mourning children, and so also accepts them. Annie and Stacey get along well, and that seems to help. Jerry decides that, when Oliver is old enough, that he will teach him the true manly profession... fashion designing.
YEAR 7: A year after taking in the siblings, a new surprise and challenge awaits the Ackerman's... Fern is pregnant with sextuplets! Shortly after taking in Stacey, Oliver, and Aaliyah, the couple had taken the new family to a restaurant, where they met a kind man named Phil. He was a weatherman. He had a fortune cookie with him that, when he opened it, said that a woman near him named Fern was going to have sextuplets. After showing the paper to Fern, she presently sent him away. Imagine her surprise when she actually got them. They are Emily Margaret, Penelope Jocelin "Penny", Diane Jaleh, Lucas Bryan, James Timotheus, and Garrett Juan.
YEAR 8: The huge Ackerman family finally decide to further extend their family... and purchase a toad! Stacey decides upon the name "Ribbit". Poor little Ribbit gets tortured all day long, but he's surviving... for now.
YEAR 9: The entire family is heartbroken when they learn that Annie has died in a car crash. Annie had been in the car coming back home from a sleepover with her friend, Jillian. Jillian's mom accidentaly hit an oncoming car trying to sneak past a red light and the car was flipped over. Fern and Jerry's life seems torn apart, and for the first time in 9 years their marriage and commitment is being tested.
YEAR 10: Jerry has just been promoted. His excellent sewing skills have finally been noticed. Now, instead of being an emergency clothing patcher, he is the director of emergency patching.
YEAR 11: Fern has just given birth to two identical twin girls! They have red, curly hair and blue eyes. The only way that they can tell them apart is that the firstborn has a beauty mark near her left eye and the secondborn does not. The firstborn twin is named Primrose Gladys, and the secondborn is Tori Marjorie. Penny is especially loving the two little babies, and often pretends that they are hers.
YEAR 12: The Ackermans are at it again, and this time they are adopting. They adopt identical twin Japanese 7-month girls named Akemi and Mei. Aaliyah does not seem to like the new girls, however, although Stacey especially does.
YEAR 13: Yet again, Fern and Jerry are adopting. This time it is a 1-year old boy from Brazil named Diego Paul. He frightens Tori, however, because he looks so much like the Diego in a show she hates.
YEAR 14: To replace Ribbit, the Ackerman's are getting another pet... a fish! It is a goldfish that Primrose calls "Fishie". And such, it's name is Fishie. Jerry has placed Fishie on a high shelf so that none of the little kids could knock it over.
YEAR 15: Jerry is traveling on a business trip! He will be gone for one week, and Fern is in horror, wondering how she will ever manage the house while he's gone.
