Aeronwy's Royal/Medieval Congrats ~ Round The Fourth (Now open to new sign ups!)
Sorry this took so incredibly long to get up! I started school two weeks ago and have been very busy. Also due to this, from now on this is going to be keep-up yourself. I know it's a hassle, I'm sorry, but it will make posing rounds less work on me now that I'm at school and thus you will have faster updates! Also, another plus of this being KUY is that this is now open to anyone who wants to join! AllI ask is that you are willing to weave yourself into the story and its existing parameters and events, that you write at least a paragraph or two each round, and that your names/occupations/family structure/etc. are at least roughly historically accurate for a medieval, vaguely British setting. Non-traditional families (especially single parents/blended families, which were very common for the time due to the staggering death rate) are definitely welcome, but again, historical accuracy is a must. Also, include an introductory paragraph explaining your family's history and anything else you deem relevant.Lastly, a note for the future: If you are joining families with another player (for example, my character Guinevere is marrying WanderingMoon's character Nethanel,) you must agree on a direction that your now shared storyline must go and what you will name your children before either of you post your update--you can either do this through PM, which I've found very helpful, or in a post on this thread, like in RowenaRavenclaw's old partner congrats a while ago. Then you post your individual update like normal with the events from your original characters' point of view. (i.e., the characters that you started with). If anyone has any problems with this or doesn't really understand, feel free to ask in the thread or PM me.*CN and Gabriella Grace, if you don't update during this round, your families will face their untimely demise*--------------------------Five years has passed since the outbreak of the civil war. Word has reached the outlying lands that the rebel forces have captured the Royal Family, seized the castle, and are keeping them hostage indefinitely. The leader of the rebels has crowned himself acting Imperator (Emperor, if you will) of Angleterra, imposing martial law. The people of Angleterra are war-torn, hungry, and in disarray. What are the consequences for your family due to this shift of power, positive and/or negative? Why are the rebels continuing to keep the King and his family alive? How are the forces loyal to the King planning their counterattack, and how are they negotiating with the new order?Genders/fates of any and all children this round are free choice.Sign Up Round: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=3907154&board=gameRound the First: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=3908035&board=gameRound the Second: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/view.php?id=3910461&board=gameRound the Third: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/view.php?id=3912500&board=game

Of course, once Queen Morgana freed them the guards quickly found out and began fighting. Thinking quickly, Duke Elijah grabbed the injured Queen and held her in front of him, shouting for the King to come up and surrender his crown.
The King did come up the tower steps, after he had been alerted to the situation, but let the Duke and Duchess know that he would never surrender the title that had been in his family for generations.
The Duchess shrugged, smirking, "So be it." And the pair imprisoned the King and Queen, crowning themselves Imperator and Imperatress. They crowned Nethanel Prince in his absence as well as engaged Dorcas to the King and Queen's oldest son, to secure their line of succession.Nethanel and his lovely wife, Lady Guinevere, have spent most of the last five years in Angleterra's neighbouring country of Francia and have welcomed three beautiful children together. Guinevere made herself active in the wool-trading business while Nethanel manned a bookshop and looked after the children. All in all they were very happy but when Geoffrey's latest letter came Guinevere asked Nethanel if they could go back to free him. Not being able to deny his wife anything he agreed, and the pair set about packing a few things.

Upon Nethanel's proposal, Guinevere was wracked with a mixture of elation and worry--she was finally with her one true love, but she knew there was absolutely no way they could stay together in Angleterra--with her steadfast support of King Henry and Nethanel's family's position as the major players of the uprising, nobody was safe. Guinevere and Nethanel hatched a plan--they would bribe their way on the next trade ship to the neighboring kingdom of Francia at nightfall. Geoffrey, who was sympathetic to their plight, provided them with funds, arranged for them to have horses and escorted them himself to the shipyard--as the new Earl of Cartwright and a full-fledged knight of the King's order, he would not be questioned. He embraced his sister one last time before she and Nethanel boarded the trade ship, promising to write and send money when he could--Geoffrey had amassed many friends in high places, thus having the connections necessary to ensure that mail would reach them. By dead of night, the lovers departed.By interesting happenstance, a cleric happened to be on board the same ship--a renegade monk escaping his order who had come to be a passenger in the exact same way that Guinevere and Nethanel did--and became very close to the couple during their journey. The monk, Guinevere, and Nethanel lodged in the same inn for a few nights in the port city of Chambourlet while they searched for work, and it is there where the cleric joined them as man and wife. With the money that Geoffrey provided for them, Guinevere and Nethanel were able to buy a modest cottage on the outskirts of town. Feeling guilty that they were largely being supported by her wealthy brother, Guinevere became very active in the large Chambourlet wool trade: at first the merchants were wary of a woman wool trader, but her wit, good sense, and persistence soon made her very well-established.

7 years ago, all was well. Bronomir and Melisende were happy and rich. This was when Melisende gave birth to Peter. He was a plump, hairy little boy. For their first year together, the Alveys were happy. But then the civil war began. It began as a small fight outside the castle gates, but soon evolved into a massive a terrible Civil War. Colin Geoffrey and Moira Junith, twins, were born at this time. The Civil War had weakened the Alveys, and Moira, their first daughter, almost died of a terrible illness. She was, however, saved by a foreign doctor who happened to be visiting Angleterra before the War began, and was now trapped in the land because of it. Melisende and the doctor, Luke Hakim, began a friendship. The enraged citizens of the war-torn Angleterra would fight against the royal armies, and the soldiers would fight back... and kill. Bronomir was still 100% loyal to the King, but Melisende, who's loyalty was already weakened by Elijah and Adina, began to see the rebel's point of view. The rebels, however, were scattered amongst Angleterra, running for their lives. Feeling uncomfortable around her husband, Melisende began to spend more and more time with Luke. She gave birth during this time, to triplets Ella, Jaleh, and Michaela. She was unsure as to whether or not they were Bronomir's, but did not get a chance to find out, as they all died two days later. Bronomir and Luke were both devestated, because they both thought that the girls were their own. Melisende continued to lie to Bronomir about her affairs with Luke. Every day, as more innocent people were killed and tortured, she became more and more of a rebel.

As a full civil war broke up, Jocelyn's rebellic feelings faded. The battles tore the country apart, but Jocelyn and her family were relatively safe in Villa Aduitore with Ezio. The first couple of months, she spent most of her time to grieve over Andrew, but, with Ezio by her side she soon started to live again. She even felt like ... there were something more between her and Ezio. But Ezio never showed any sign of getting over Rosa, so Jocelyn gave up the idea of flirting with Ezio. Being a dresser with no one to dress made Jocelyn bored. She started to take walks in the beautiful garden of Villa Auditore, and grew intrested in flowers and trees. Her newfound interest was also how she came in contact with Olivier, the gardener. Olivier was from a near country, that Jocelyn had never heard of, and he started to teach Jocelyn about the different plants. As the months grew to years, they slowly felt more and more drawn to eachother. They tried to keep their romance a secret, since it would harm both their reputations to be involved without being married, and Jocelyn didn't want to marry Olivier, since he was very politically involved and could be dead and gone any second (just like Andrew).
Still, Jocelyn found out she was pregnant and didn't want the child to be born outside a marriage, and decided to marry Olivier anyway. The child she gave birth to was stillborn, and to Jocelyn, that was a sign from God that she had sin. She accused herself for having "male company" without being married, and the dead baby was the punishment. After that, Jocelyn became pregnant once again, and that baby is now just a newborn, but looking healthy and strong!Meanwhile, when Jocelyn has been in town she's been catching up with Amy Macario. Even better, their children, Neven and Sandra, seems to get along great!

The life of Baron FitzGilbert, Inquistor General of Angleterra has become a prison. George, who continued in his role of trying to garner information on the rebel's evil plot on behalf King Henry & the LORD. His hard work gain him reward with the granting of the title Earl of Fishbourne, the isle where he kept a hermitage. During this time his first wife, Lady Jane died giving birth to twin girls Edith Jane, who died shortly after her mother and Margaret Martha, who was a much stronger child than her sister. This event made George more determined in his duties as he felt it was an act of witchcraft that had caused his beloved to die.George wasn't at all keen to re-wed but knew that his children needed a mother and that with his dangerous job he himself might not be around to raise and protect them. He sought a wife from beyond the isle nation of Angleterra, and found the young Helene of Montblanc, youngest daughter of Pierre Lengua-de-plata, Duc de Montblanc, a powerful Calaisian ruler whose family was related to the rulers of Angleterra. The couple have three children, Bohemund Peter, Hamelin Mark & Hermine Anna. Helene is nothing like Lady Jane. Were Jane was longing for adventure and the high life, Helene is deeply devout & drawn to the simple life, a pair of traits she shares with George.A year before Hermine's birth, Henry & his family were captured by the rebel forces by events that to this day remain unknown to George, although he has heard rumours that the Queen may have caused it to happen. George, knowing that his role as Inquisitor General had made him many enemies, especially in the the rebel camp retreated to the isle of Fishbourne. Thereafter he fortified his new castle, taking virtual control of the populace of the tiny isle as he prepares for what he believes his the eventual attack by the Usurpers' forces to removed him for the mortal realm.George has sent messengers to his new father-in-law in the hopes he will raise a force to help George reestablish the true order of the realm.

--DS/DS: Lucian Matthias Nathan "Lou" / Maximilian Patrick Owen "Max" (nb) Millie was a health little baby. Uppity. Happy-go-lucky. She's been a wonderful addition to the family. Nothing can upset little Mia. Millicent Nichola Ruth is the most darling, happy-go-lucky three-year-old imaginable.Litsy was a sicklier child than Mia or any of her other siblings. Therefore, the name Talitha fits. Elissa and Hiram decided on the name Talitha, because in Scripture Jesus says, "Talitha cumi," which means "little girl, arise." The little girl Jesus was speaking to arose. Talitha Patience Racquel "arose" from her sickliness after the first month or so. Mena is adorable. She's all over the place. Bouncing. Dancing. Singing. Hopping. You name it, and she'll do it. At one Philomena is all over the place. What a joy she is to her parents and siblings! Lou and Max were born just a few months ago. Lou and Max were both frail and weak. Neither were expected to live. Max is still rather frail and he could be lost any time. Since Lettie was a tiny baby, many things have changed. Firstly, Roland has taken off on the opposite sides of things. At the age of fifteen, he has decided that his mother and Hiram are in the wrong by looking at the rebels with disgust. He has secretly joined up with them. Elissa is sorely grieved about Roland's change of sides.Darius is still quiet. He's been searching for a wife. When he met Ivy, Darius knew she was for him, though they are still, as of yet, not engaged. Ivy and Darius are lucky to not have an arranged marriage.

Henry’s belief that the war would come to a swift end was proved wrong – slowly, things began to fall apart for all. However, short-lived happiness would come in the fom of a new Prince, Edward. While at first it appeared that Henry was winning the battles, the rebels soon re-gathered and came back fighting stronger than ever. Both the army, on the orders of Baron FitzGilbert, as well as the rebels, left a trail of destruction behind them. Upon Henry’s orders, rebels and traitors who were captured were to be executed, their property seized, their families put to shame. Henry was finally fed up, he could not believe how out of control the people had become, that they dare question his divine superiority. Yet, those who remained loyal were well compensated, and Queen Morgana continued to reach out to those in need. She had formed a plan of her own, not confiding in Henry, she was determined to do all that was necessary to eradicate the rebels and rebuild the nation.Morgana had been visiting prisoner’s who had been suspected of treason in the main prison, The Tower of ?. Among them were the Duke and Duchess of Slovene, who had been imprisoned for the last 4 years or so. Their daughter Miriam had betrayed them to Henry, and in doing so, Henry seized the opportunity to compile a huge case against them, he finally had the evidence he was looking for, as he had long suspected they had been the masterminds behind the entire plot. Morgana would make regular visits to all prisoners, bringing food, bibles, clothes, blankets, and occasionally lending her ear when there were no guards present. Her sympathy grew, and she had made up her mind, she would attempt to free the leaders of the rebels. In her reasoning, she truly believed that the rebels would cease their attack on her family and the Kingdom in return for their freedom.

Wouldn't a KUY storyline congrats be excruciatingly intricate, Aeronwy? Not to contradict you, but it'll be utterly confusing when players rain in and new characters abound.
La ReinaCount: Ezio Alessandro Auditore (da Firenze) (33)
Countess: Rosa Maddalena Auditore (nee de Magianis) (d. at 26)-S: Federico Antonio "Fede" (8)
-D: Maria Caterina (7)
-S: Leonardo Giovanni (d. at 1 mo.)(Still waiting for who exactly reigns - presumed Duke Elijah or Nethanel)Five years of meticulously calculated plans and gathering the masses has finally proved worthy for Ezio. He had never forgotten the flaming desire for vengeance, but the time had also made him more compliant. Through the years living as a "poor noble", raising his children, and various circumstances had made him rethink if assassinating Henry will actually do any good. When the rebel forces caught up on the escape of Duke Elijah and his family (assisted by the Queen, they say!), Ezio could only watch as Angleterra turned to the worse.Ezio feared that to remain will endanger Fede and Maria, and also prove toxic to their minds, but to flee to his homeland will do no better, especially as the Auditore family dreaded parting with Jocelyn and her children, now a permanent resident of their home. Desperate and anxious, Ezio took his scholar's hood and went to visit the royal family - the true royal family - in the dungeons.Infriltrating the dungeons was a hard task, but with stealthy "silencing" of the guards, Ezio came through. The Queen was inexplicably overjoyed to see him, but Ezio locked eyes with the former King, unknowingly unnerving the younger children as he did. He dragged Henry to an adjoining room, barred the door, and began the hardest task: the talk.As hard as it was to restrain his thirst for revenge, it was surprisingly the course of action Ezio took. He confronted Henry with the war as the consequence of the ex-king's arrogance, relating as he did how Henry caused the untimely loss of Rosa and Leonardo. Henry tried to defend himself with a bitter recollection of his son's death and Morgana's assassination attempt, and suddenly, both men realised their plight was, after all, not so different.

To be honest,I don't think that many new people will join. I was thinking that maybe there were one or two people who missed the sign ups who would really like to be in this, so I thought I'd open it up. However, I might be punished for my arrogance and nobody new joins, or everyone will decide to!And feel free to contradict me :-D

ATTN: WanderingMoonNow that we have the storyline all squared out, we should think about children--I think in five years they should have two or three children. Any ideas on names or genders? I thought it should be a good mix of Biblical/Old Testament and traditional medieval names, with girls' names like Anne/Anna, Elizabeth, Sarah, etc. and boys' names like Joseph, Adam, Simon, etc.I found these links really helpful:http://heraldry.sca.org/laurel/names/jewish.html
